It may sew with #207 on top and #138 in bottom. only way is to try it. call Bob Kovar at Toledo Sewing. He will have needles and bobbins. glenn

the original bases were paint black lacquer or japanned black and metallic gold paint on the fretwork. glenn

Never in my 45 plus years of sewing have I had the length of the stitch affect the tension. Sorry. glenn
-
Go to a #23/160 needle with #138 thread. All I use and I sew almost the time. I also use titanium coat needles which are the best! glenn
-
The length of stitch should NOT effect the tension. If the needle hole is too small, that will affect the stitch tension because knot will get hung up on the bottom of the piece you are sewing. glenn

Check with Kwok Hing and order feet for them. They are in Hong Kong and ship the States. Very good quality. You buy genuine Pfaff, they will not be chea. glenn

You have to decide if you need a flatbed or cylinder arm if buying one machine. If buying a cylinder arm and you want the best, Juki 2342, DA669, or DA869. If a flatbed, for the money, Juki 2810, DA867, Mauser 2625. DA will be most expensive. All are plain Janes, no toys. If buying two machines, your budget probably dictates clones. As Wiz said, post might be an option as well. I have a DA669 Eco. The Cadillac in that narrow cylinder arm class. The machines I mentioned are all 3rd generation machines. The 1341,1342, 1541S are all 2nd generation machines! glenn -
-Do not know if is the same as the 1508N. Checked. It is the same Part # B1401-053-000. Check to see if that is your part number on what you ordered. If generic, return it and order genuine from Juki Dealer -Second tensioner just makes it easier to adjust the tension -I use up to #138. You can run #207 on top I believe. Use #138 in bottom. glenn
