  1. This is the first pancake I have made from my own pattern. My stitch line is way too loose at the bottom in front of the trigger gaurd, but the retention seems to be pretty good. I obviously borrowed from JLS's patterns, (thanks for the freebies, I learned a lot making that 1911 pancake from your design). Holster is 4 layers of 4/5 oz. Veg tan from Tandy's, plus another layer of the same for the reinforcement panel. Stitching is Tandy's braided poly thread using a two mm. stitching chisel. I would really like to hear your critiques and suggestions. I know it aint perfect, but I am pretty happy with it.
  2. Damn, I used to think I was a pretty good leather worker, but work like yours (and whole bunch more of the folks on this forum ) illustrate how much I have to learn. That is really fine work.
  3. What he said. That dragon flesh is awesome! Your dye job on it is perfect for bringing out all of the awesomeness. Beautifully executed.
  4. Looks great. Nice stitching and pretty edges.

    For Gimpy

That's too pretty to put a sweaty glass on. You need a coaster for that coaster.
  8. Congratulations! That is a beautiful holster

Really nice work. I love the colors.
  11. Very cool. One suggestion, next time go with a wonderful Texas gulf coast blue crab, not as much meat, but sooo sweet. Seriously, great looking wallet.
  12. Just finished this sleeve for a Mother's Day gift for my wife. This is the second sleeve I've made. I think it's a big improvement over the first one. I used 8/9 oz. leather. The handle is molded Kydex with 2/3 oz. wrapped around it and attached with rapid rivets. It is much sturdier than the all leather handle on my first attempt. The next one I make I will try reinforcing it with molded raw hide. I welcome any comments or suggestions.
  13. Look very nice. Good job.
  14. I haven't tried Sheridan yet myself, but I saw that Barry King offers groups of suggested stamps for sale at a fairly substantial discount. I also seem to remember that there is a Gomph starter set advertised on Slickbald's website.
  15. It's really cool. I love the effect. I agree about the groover, but still very cool!
  16. Beautiful work. Great colors. Arm gaurds are awesome, but I really dig the frog.
  17. Looks really good. I like that buckle a lot.
  18. Nice looking holster, fantastic edges!
  19. Not going to critique the function, I tried to make a similair design and it did not work well for me. It also was not nearly as beutiful. Your craftsmanship is very good.
  20. Oooh, I like the coin inlay with the round profile of the reinforcement piece! Cool design.
  21. Very nice. I would not have guessed it was from a kit. Nice job on the lacing.
