Damn, I used to think I was a pretty good leather worker, but work like yours (and whole bunch more of the folks on this forum ) illustrate how much I have to learn. That is really fine work.
Very cool. One suggestion, next time go with a wonderful Texas gulf coast blue crab, not as much meat, but sooo sweet.
Seriously, great looking wallet.
Just finished this sleeve for a Mother's Day gift for my wife. This is the second sleeve I've made. I think it's a big improvement over the first one. I used 8/9 oz. leather. The handle is molded Kydex with 2/3 oz. wrapped around it and attached with rapid rivets. It is much sturdier than the all leather handle on my first attempt. The next one I make I will try reinforcing it with molded raw hide. I welcome any comments or suggestions.
I haven't tried Sheridan yet myself, but I saw that Barry King offers groups of suggested stamps for sale at a fairly substantial discount. I also seem to remember that there is a Gomph starter set advertised on Slickbald's website.
Not going to critique the function, I tried to make a similair design and it did not work well for me. It also was not nearly as beutiful. Your craftsmanship is very good.
