  2. Go search the C S Osborne site. They have a chart.
  3. Do you already own a Lie Nielson plane? I use one for trimming the edges of my work. I haven't tried it for skiving. I don't think it would work well for skiving leather because the mouth is so tight and you get minimal blade protrusion. I dicked around with a couple of Stanley planes with their stock blades and they work. If you're not a woodworker I suggest you save your money and buy a Stanley with an adjustable mouth.
  4. Fill it with lead and call it a sap.
  5. https://www.buckleguy.com/leather-straps/ Have you looked at their English bridle yet? Take your pick.
  6. I used Google translate to translate to American. It only said "No Comprende". Thanks for the info, I really don't understand but it is a starting point to figure it out. Hell, my wife is in charge of setting up the VCR.

  8. Could I transfer and edit a PDF file on any of the above programs?
  9. Good eye. It is a beautiful bag. I make handbags so I can appreciate the work. Show and tell us more.
  10. "Nearly" means almost as good. Nothing works. I believe that is a fact. Please prove me wrong. Tokonole is the best burnishing stuff in my opinion and that of many high-end professionals. But only for veg tanned. I can show you what does not work.

  12. Speaking of Hermes, here is an article on the difference of a saddle stich and machine stitching that resembles a saddle stitch. The picture shows how to tell the difference. https://www.malle2luxe.fr/expertise-recognize-a-couture-hand-stitch-saddle-and-a-sewing-machine-hermes-mail-bag/
  13. Once you have wax on it, you're married to it. Wax is a protective coating. Edge paint such as Uniters or Vernis is what I recommend. If you have a double edge it needs to be cut or sanded flush or else anything uneven will show. Sand the hell out of it and apply, sand some more and apply then sand some more and apply a third coat. The best method is to use an electric creaser heated up to even out the first coat. It can be done with a hot butter knife heated up on the stove. It is a tedious job but that is how the exposed edges are done. Plenty of videos on YouTube.
  14. I concur with Billy. Any markings?
  15. Rocky Mountain Leather.
  16. Any size is the right size. For wallets 3mm or 3.38mm works well. Use .5mm or smaller thread.
  17. Yes sir, the numbers are absolutely amazing. Always Google first and spoon-feed last.
  18. I really don't know but wax may act like a barrier to the sno seal?
  19. I am occasionally interested in the same. I contacted a place in PA and they have a $50 minimum plus shipping to and fro. Rocky Mountain Leather offers free skiving when buying their leather.
  20. Nice sheath. As far as drawknives, I'm a fan of T.H. Witherby.
  21. There's no toe kick, how often to you kick those doors when standing at the bench?
  22. My experience is that the bigger the table the more junk gets stored on top and in the way. I made a tool well like the woodworking benches have to store tools and what not level with or below the bench surface. Basically a tray attached to the bench. Drawers and shelves are pretty convenient. I would have dedicated drawers for leather panels and one for my patterns.
  23. Shoulders or sides? Cutting table or work table or both? You ought to know best what your needs are. Do you mean depth(front to back)? Five feet with out more information.
