i dont see the band aids? Jeez talk about taking all the fun out of losing stuff you did a great job!!!!! really like the sheath.
-
should work nicely on those pesky varmints lol.

Right tool for the job, the knife depends on the type, thickness, shape of the leather or pattern you intend to be cutting. so you will be getting a lot of confusing reply's unless you can give more info. Are you making saddles or watch straps?
-
i mark alignment centers with a small awl mark right at the edge of the leather, it then gets cut off burnished or stitched over. Or in a place that will be covered or removed like a snap spot or hole. no one but you will ever notice unless you go crazy deep with the marks,
-
i use a round awl, put just a very tiny mark, or dividers for lines. I use pencil too once in a while very lightly then erase it, get a good gum eraser.

We use cast iron for most of our cooking. yup anything Griswold is worth some bucks, I have a Griswold No 8 tite top Dutch oven, Bought at a yard sale for 5 bucks. Its a little small for cooking for our family so i use it once in a while for deep frying. That waffle iron is a real beauty. I also have a couple of those toasters in my camper lol. They are great around the campfire.

My Latest: Glock chest holster
chuck123wapati replied to Dwight's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I thank you Dwight for allowing me to copy your design a bit. It is no where as nice looking as yours but it sure does fill a niche for me. This is the prototype for a rig i can use on all of my side holsters. I added a couple of slots to the holsters making some options for how the holster hangs. I think i can pretty it up some. -
welcome to the forum now get to work and answer the question about foam glue a guy is trying to do a seat cover LOL.
-
what type of foam is the key to getting the right glue. Some glues or rather the drying agents used will melt some foams instantly. it wont take long to find out if you have a compatibale glue.

That is beautiful Fred!! Things i will never see in person!

Lets talk about sales (or lack thereof)
chuck123wapati replied to Spyros's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
yea i agree sucessful business require hard work and patience. patience to allow the business to grow at its own rate and the patience to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hard work is the catalyst. Ive read a thousand success stories pretty much the dominate theme is 16 hour days! If you plan to borrow a ton o money to buy a ton of cool tools because you have no patience to save and expect to quit every day at five,go on a couple of vacations a year right from the start then you probably will fail. But then success is a personal thing that means diferent things to diferent people me i'm happy with a hot meal and a cold beer at the end of the day some want caviar and champagne. Working for yourself is a full time job. -
dang what a pretty place to live!!!
