  1. I had an old driller once, oil field slang, That told me once Boy your workin faster than you can think when things start going wrong go take a break before you really screw it up. I didn't know how right he was till i tried it.
  2. Are you slipping that horse a few sugar cubes on the sly? Or maybe sewing a couple inside the lining lol.
  3. Awesome, tooling and the coloring is really nice. Nice western take on an 1911 holster. Maybe some skiving at hose bends would help?
  4. i was just wondering if anyone skived each end of the round holes, one side on the front and one side on the back of the belt so the prong wont deform the hole as much instead of making an oval Like we do with belt loops on pancake holsters.
  5. Scribe a line down the middle of you piece from one end to the other, Then drill small pilot holes on both ends of each oval, then drill out the pilot holes with the right size bit and finish with needle files.
  6. most tool rolls have holes in each corner to hang on the wall. it could take care of a bunch of your tool storage at once.
  7. Something like a tool roll maybe if you have more than one.
  8. those are excellent. I see a set screw in the top of the body are they adjustable in length?
  9. LOL took me two seconds. But as i said to each his own.
  10. ummm show to people same as you they are pictures. Difference is I get to choose who sees them and when but to each his own right. I don't have to be selective at all I know where my desk drawer is and who gets into it. AND its "free".
  11. https://www.amazon.com/Sunolga-Leather-Artwork-Stitching-Stamping/dp/B0896TLDDG/ref=asc_df_B0896TLDDG/?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=&hvpos=&hvnetw=o&hvrand=&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584070147480707&psc=1 This is just one of the many sets as i said some of the tools are ok but the stamps are junk.
  12. If you got that set that pops up first on the google search most of the stamps are pure junk and you wont ever produce a nice product with them. What i did to start out is i made a design then figured out what tools i need for the project and bought just those tools after awhile i had a good set designed for my style and knew what each did.
  13. And why every person needs to buy locally if possible so these cottage industries will restart. Everyone bitches about the rich upper crust having all the money all the while giving them their money instead of giving it to their hard working neighbors and community based businesses.
  14. I used one of those sites once then one day i asked myself, why would I give someone else access to my property when i can easily keep it on a flash drive, don't need an update every week don't need another password and don't need someone using or stealing my photos because i have to agree to some fine print that so i can use something i don't really need. Guess what I unfkd myself lol. I can now just reach in my desk drawer and pull out my thousands of pictures and use them anywhere anytime.
  15. Antler bling my favorite lol. Beautiful work as always.
  16. I've gotta make me one of them vacuum machines, both for leather and my knife handle blanks. Been eyeing the wifes food vac sealer machine but she eyes me back and not in a nice way. You have the process down pat Dwight Thanks for sharing.
  17. Cuir Bouilli is a very old way of hardening veg tan. I have no idea about hardening other types of tanned leather but is a good place to start your search. If it wont harden you may be able to glue or sew it to some veg tan underlay. Good luck.
  18. I love archeology and always laugh at the surprises it holds for the experts. For some reason they know modern mans brain is no larger or smarter now than then but they always think its some kind of miracle when they discover ancient products that are so well thought out and built so well.
  19. Very cool article. I look all over with my metal detector and all i find are beer pull tabs from the 70s maybe i should look somewhere besides my backyard lol.
