  1. Just posted this pic in another thread and it got me to thinking. How about showing off your stocking stuffers and easy projects for holiday gifts so we can all get some ideas. this is super easy can be made from scrap pieces and colored however you like. I skived it thin after tooling died with vinegaroon and added some pearlesent colors very lightly to make it shine like a crow feather.
  2. MCmaster carr, grainger
  3. Now you need to buy another gun for the other side.lol
  4. My wife of 40 years, my faith, my family, my friends. I am thankful I still have enough to give to those in need and for those who give to me when I am in need.
  5. THANK YOU!
  6. Be sure you can comply with this safety code. NFPA 1851-2014, Section 8 requires that all repairs be performed by the original manufacturer, a verified ISP who has received training or a trained member of the organization. A limited number of basic repairs as defined in NFPA 1851 can be performed by the manufacturer, the organization, manufacturer trained organizations, verified organizations or verified ISPs. Basic repairs are defined as:  Patching of minor tears, char marks and ember burns to an outer shell  Repairing of skipped, broken, and missing stitches to an outer shell  Replacement of missing hardware (excluding closure) to an outer shell  Reclosing the liner of a garment after inspection Advanced repairs as defined in NFPA 1851 can be performed by Quaker Safety, a verified ISP or a verified organization.
  7. never tried it but neodymium magnets are really strong they may be the ticket, i have bought flat 1 inch square ones and they come with a 1/8th inch plastic spacer between, if you get two stuck together its almost impossible to separate them.
  8. Great post I just got blessed with two American bully pups and am in need also. My families problem is a 17 year old blind and deaf cat that uses anything on the floor as a pee stop. Please post some pics and maybe instructions on your build. I was thinking just a couple of the felt type throws with about two inches of batting inside sewn up, definitely needs to be washable.
  9. deer cannot be tooled to my knowledge, the roll type is great for backgammon because the dice cups double as ends for the roll and everything fits inside.
  10. i would use deer hide or some such light leather if you want it to bunch up like a bag and dye the squares on it. If you want to tool it try a tuck and roll pattern, cut the lines then bevel both sides, use a seed stamp for the buttons and cut some fold lines similar to the center pattern on my backgammon board.
  11. ball swivel mount, ball and socket mount
  12. if you have s drill press Frodo chuck them up and use a file then some sand paper to finish the process.
  13. maybe post some of your own and they will change, i think that is what happens but dont know for sure.
  14. you could build a couple of spacers for your 20t, you wouldn't need a gauge then.
  15. Hardening and tempering details are easy to obtain from the steel manufactures they aren't secret by any means. Its how well the tool makers can reproduce with certainty the process every time that create better tool makers than others. Type of high carbon steel used is just a part of the equation imo and not as important as in the end its a mater of the finished hardness and temper being correct for the tool and work it will be doing. I agree with you the cheapest and most expensive can be just as sharp.
