  2. If your skiving is smooth and even, it should not cause a void or valley of any kind.

  4. Tape first or it won't stick.
  5. I use Tanner's bond from Tandy. Apply a thin coat to each piece, allow to set 10-15 minutes. That's it, and you won't be able to easily get the pieces apart. NOTHING should take hours to cure.
  6. What kind of glue are you using? Any good contact adhesive is ready to stick together in 10 minutes or so, then start sewing.
  7. Excess glue is the first thing that comes to mind. And do you tap or roll your edges after you join them?

  18. Another marking is a numeral, let's say 18, with a smaller number, 1-4, underlined, indicating quarter feet. So, 18 with a smaller 3, underlined, would be 18.75 sq. feet.
  19. Nice job! We don't have those up here in the PNW, but I remember seeing them when I was stationed at Ft. Lost in the Woods. This time of year our most colorful bird is the Flicker.

  23. You can reduce the dye with either denatured or isopropyl alcohol. And clean brushes as well.
