  6. DwightT Welcome to the forum, looks like you have a good handle on tooling. Thank you for your PGR riding, I rode with the PGR for 16 years and just recently stopped due to health reasons, I miss it.
  7. WOW!! thats fancy and beautiful , awesome , well done
  8. Mine doesn't, I design in corel save as a DXF then transfer to the laser. I think corel can talk to the laser direct but some say it doesn't work well so I never tried it. its no big deal to do it my way. Sounds like light burn is the same, you design in another program then save it as an svg then transfer it to light burn.
  9. great lookin bag well done
  10. Dwight a 40 watt co2 laser will engrave Veg tan leather nicely . I will also engrave wood, glass, and many other materials. It will not engrave bare metal but might mark bare metal with the help of cermark, but I wouldn't count on that cermark needs slow speeds and more power.
  11. Great job looks much better and from your opinion works better too
  12. Thanks Dwight , you never implied that a co2 could cut or engrave metal , were this guy read that I can't . figure. I probably know more about co2 lasers then he'll ever know
  13. I make a bunch of key fobs with military insignia's on them and give them to vets that I run into. It satisfying and then when I go back to sheaths I feel better .
  14. Awesome any Lady would be proud to sport that bag
  15. yep its awesome for sure
  16. Thanks Gulrok, that's exactly what I was looking for. My main concern was if there's any char in the lines that would dull my swivel knife.
  17. Hey Todd So sorry for your loss. Hope things are going better for you now. Keep us informed when you get your laser. We can help you with the curve. Also theres a Great Forum called sawmillcreek. It a woodworking forum but has a laser section , and these guys really know their stuff. Not much in the laser world they cant tell you how to fix.

  21. I was looking for an answer from him, wanted to see if he ever bought a laser , what he got and hows he doing.. I've been lasering leather for almost 6 years now. I do all my designing in Coreldraw . You'll find most engravers use this program altho Light burn is becoming popular. Its new but people find it easy to use. I won't change as Corel can do a lot more.
  22. so it had to be true
  23. MOST DESK TOP LASERS wont have a z axis but some have a removable bottom so you can block it up for some larger objects. You'll find the most lasers over 60 watts and up will have a z axis. Look at Rabbit, Boss , Thunder to name a few.
