  1. So much Awesome work to choose from, I couldn't pick just one………. Saddle by Rick Bean Work by Samar MonkeyA - I love this clean line sample....... MattW 5avan10 Cyrex
  2. I have never tried doing something like this but when I try something new, I make samples and test them. I would try tying and/or stitching the tassels and gluing the band using something like Barge cement. Then test it out - then you'll have an idea of what to expect... Hope this helps.
  3. You learn something new every day! All along I have been thinking "these folks are nuts". Heheheh. So Sorry... Being a big "Dog Lover" my self and having had dogs that merely needed a little training (Border Collie, Australian Shepard)........ it is difficult to imagine that blinders for dogs would or could accomplish anything more than adding to any problems the dog may already have. I have never heard of the "Thunder cap for dogs" or 'Thundershirt Calming Cap' but after doing some reading I can see how the occasional use of the cap may be helpful in certain circumstances (and in conjunction with training)
  4. blackriverlaser is a member here as stitchwizzard You could try a PM? Maybe on vacation?
  5. Not sure what Fiebings product you meant to say here, but I need some Fiebings Tan Kote and found it at Mcpherson Leather in Seattle advertised at 32 oz for $17.40. Think I'm gonna get some asap......

  7. Thanks so much for sharing that info. I just love how that border looks, so I guess I"ll have to talk to Wayne Jueschke and get those stamps... I'll probably send a pic of your stamped border on the notebook... Soo cool! Thanks again Bob, for all of your help.
  8. I Love this place and how everyone is so willing to share - problems and possible solutions. This will remind me to try a sample corner... So Thanks for that! BTW - since I mentioned that etsy notebook (with Basket Stamp and Decorative Border Design) would it be terrible of me to ask a question about that? I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how you did that outer border... searching/looking at different distributors/stamps - trying to find a way to do that my self. I found a 3 point snow flake? stamp that is similar to your design but I could not find one with only 2 points or a similar triangular stamp to the one you used on either side of the snowflakes? - soo there is No way I could duplicate your "beautiful/perfect border" on that notebook. I just love that border and don't recall seeing that design anywhere else. If you do mind sharing your secret to that or if this is not the proper place to ask.... since it kind of hijacks the subject of this "Ladies Clutch Wallet" post - I would totally understand. (I looked at your gallery and other pic's in posts to see if there was a better place to ask this question)
  9. Well now I can't decide... I Really like the looks of Chiefs corners ( 2 3 2 ) on the Bible cover, but I was checking out your things on your etsy site and I was looking at the corners on the 3x5 notebook (Pocket Size Leather Notebook with Basket Stamp and Decorative Border Design) and it looks like you went 2 2 2 on the corners on that one... and they look Perrfect too.
  10. Really Nice Bob. Love your work! My first thought on seeing your clutch carving was "Grrreat Back-grounding"
  11. There is more on the handle... did you notice? Heritage Tools Arthur IL. (Illinois) I found a Heritage® Foot Press at Weaver Leather... might be they bought the design for the press from the Heritage Tool company that doesn't exist any more? Maybe their parts will fit? Heritage® Foot Press I think I would try talking with Weaver Leather about your press?
  12. Awesome! I am not a skull fan, but I'm really glad I checked out yours... Grrreat tooling & design. I agree with the others - Best skull I have seen in a long time.
  13. Reading this all...... makes me cringe and reminds me of the rule to always cut away from any body parts... mistakes can just draw blood up to a ride to the emergency room. New blade in the utility knife + cutting in the wrong direction + being in a hurry = stitches. Long story made short... * I'm pretty sure everyone reading this topic is remembering the time they learned this
  14. I agree with All Above - I think Your work is Incredible and I bet we all are in agreement that you are on your way to being a Very Very popular leatherworker/artist and your work will be in Great Demand. Awesome Awesome Leatherwork!
  15. Mmmmmmmmm... Niiiiiiiiiiiiice!
  16. I highly recommend the BearMan Maul This 15 oz maul does everything I need it to - it is well balanced and feels good in my hand... easy to use although - a lot of folks have 2 (or more) mauls, 17 oz for the majority of tooling & 12 oz for delicate work. Maybe up to 21 oz for the basketweave stamping.... btw, I've had mine since 3/2011 and it looks/works like new. OH, and I love the title of your topic, Very clever! - Love LOTR!
  17. Thanks for the tutorial and pictures for your Belt Keepers - Very Nice indeed!
  18. Thank You Dwight for sharing all that really good info & picture of your punches... That is Verrrry Cool.
  19. Great idea! I love the artistic minds here at LW.net... Never be afraid to try something new. (It) might just be the next new thing that everyone wants to try...
  20. Really Nice belt... Great color & nice edges!
  21. The "new" comment bumps the topic up to the top... northmount simply chose the 'Bump Smiley" to put in the reply as it was the most relevant smiley to use... there are about 110 smiley's for all kinds of occasions.... He could have chosen to add a comment... this was just a fun, fast and easy way to accomplish the bump
  22. When you 'Bump' a post that action brought the post up to the top of the list of posts where it would be viewed or found easily... not down on page 10, or what ever. The last post on this topic was on June 17 2013 so it was not so easy to find or see.... This is Such a Good Topic, it really should be 'Pinned" so it is always up at the top of the list of posts - along with the other 'Pinned' Really Good and Helpful topics...
  23. Whew! Worked all thru the night! Had to finish that order!
