  1. There are different types of hardware that are installed on the guitar and on the guitar strap to make them quick connect. Go into any music shop and tell them you want the hardware for quick connection for guitar straps. They come with instructions that tell you the drill size you will need. Most guitarist will have more than just one or two guitars. Having a quick connect system will be wanted so multiple straps will fit multiple guitars.
  2. AZ, I'm digging the quiver! Chuck & AZ - how bout a couple mor pics from top and back?????
  3. How do you treat the black oxide????
  4. Howdy Stitch, a lot of these guys have more knowledge than I ever hope to have. Look at this site as a living encyclopedia for everything leather! If they don't know it they will point you to someone that does
  5. Just so all of you are clear, using one in self defense is acceptable if the attacker dies, leave him and play the "catch me - screw me" game Im all for self preservation
  6. I'm wanting to know is that a 3D carving or is this a an actual model made with leather???
  7. That gun probably works as good as a rifle
  8. Does to take a half day to get the barrel free???
  9. That's the kind of doll you see in horror movies
  10. Love the work, how did you come up with that design, it's what most would call awesome
  11. I recognize those snaps, Tandy has a habit of buying items that are good for their "bottom line"; where the company saves a penny per 100,000 because the male part on a line 24 is a bastard size and it's a wee bit smaller than normal, more like a line 23 and 9/10ths. The buyer for tandy doesn't use these items, he is there to make sure they don't run out. I'm pretty sure he has zero knowledge of what tolerances are or how a slight hardness in metal affects a tools behavior. Most guys (like myself) would pay that extra 25 cents for better quality other than getting an item that is there just to fill a shelf! FJB. Screw it, today I'm calling Tandy and tell them how they are screwing up and making bad experiences for their consumers, because they hire a guy that is better suited to ask do you want fries with that burger??? Sefullef - it's not your placement of the snap - it's that the snap is not made correctly! I hold paper in industrial engineering and that picture of the snap shows me that the problem is on the male parts design. It should be a bit more bulbous. The spring has nothing to hold onto. Tapping the female edge is just gonna bend the surrounding metal jacket. If the spring was a smidgen smaller or the head of the male part (which I would target) was made a whisper of a smidgen larger - you would have a better quality snap! I'm sure I have covered this before - on the same product - sold by the same company - made by cheap methods - in China! See what y'all went and did, now I'm upset and made me rant past my beauty sleep - which I soooo desperately need!
  12. Hey Rocky, have ya thought about finding a wood worker to help with those molds, maybe even using an epoxy pour?? You have an awesome product, seems there is a more efficient way to produce em
  13. The "half vasted" method also helps save the material between the holster and the skin from early wear, back in the day good trousers (like today) ain't cheap. Seeing as the normal holster hangs below the belt where the thigh moves back and forth as you walk, the leather is a bit harder and acts as an abrasive that will make quick work of a pair of jeans. Smooth leather is better. Now if the holster is at the belt and there is no friction then it's up to the maker. After a few dozen holsters you learn that full wrap around tooling is good on smaller higher hanging holsters is cool. The lower hanging high friction is meant to be smoother
  14. Send a picture to show us what you are seeing, you might be looking at vegtan latigo
  15. Some folks just meld into a real business, while others just say in diving in with both feet. I started slowly as a young teen and decided to sell leather products at the flea market. It happens in many different ways but it's the journey that defines many artists
  16. It might also be a scam
  17. The more up to date use a form of tattooing, some with a type of infrared ink. Those folks understand the cost of leather per square inch. Your Mexican leather has branding marks that are all over the hide, usually done by a sadistic employee that needs termination at the least. I use the branding marks to make saddle bag, travel bags, and other carry alls. Some folks are brainwashed to think leather items should be spotless and that a bug would never bite a cow. Those that brand cattle need less time cooking skin and realize that it's a better brand that doesn't damage the hide and is more comfortable for the cattle. That's where tattooing comes in. In most cases it can't be seen with the naked eye.
  18. I'd love to see more awesomeness
  19. I have that same model from Amazon, I haven't used it yet because I have a belt sander and a burnisher I got from the leather tool guy, I'll check the box it came in to see if it has any info
  20. Pictures speak volumes, what is the battery really for, does it weigh about 7 pounds??? I'd also add a couple of 1/4 inch screw post as insurance on each of the four sides (8 screw post total). An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure, plus it will look better.
  21. I give em the answer without blowing smoke to convince em to buy my product. If the customer likes it the first words will be to ask the cost. If it's a belt I'll tell them the price and the type of leather it is and it's expected life expectancy . The used car sales method is not a way to sell quality handmade goods. If you have to force the sale nobody is happy later on!
  22. Really awesome, I gots questions
  23. I gotta agree with rleather and Chuck you have the best creative vision and yeah, making a wallet out of a pair of old leather shoes rocks!
