Hi, Ladies and Gentlemen: Hoping that everyone is staying safe and sound in these challenging times! I have a Mitsubishi that may be DB-130 or similar. In my particular case, it is set up to use DBx1 16x257 needles. I believe that DBx1 is the same standard as in the manual. Correct me if I am wrong. It stitches perfectly on a broad range of fabrics, and I am happy with this. But there is still a problem! There are no parts 94/95 on the needle bar. Instead, the needle is held in place by ugly black thing. This black, square collar strikes the foot if the foot is lifted, during bobbin winding. Does anyone sell the proper part 94/95 and screw 96 for this model? If you also have part ## 11, 172, 173, I am interested too.

Nice work. Aren't your stitches too short? You are wasting thread and weakening the product.

I never stop getting amazed by the members' craftsmanship and creativity here and recommend visiting this forum whenever my fellows on the gun boards ask to recommend a source of holsters.

A plea for help to all holster and sheath makers!
DrmCa replied to DrmCa's topic in All About Us and Off Topic
Update: Good news: This list has been cross-posted on a whole lot of other forums. People are contacting the companies on the list and getting some good replies. I, personally, have gone over all of the email addresses and fax numbers above. Currently going through the online contact forms for those who do not list their emails/FAX numbers. Bad news: The madness of this is skyrocketing! A rumor is going around Canada that the ban includes all 12 gauge shotguns with removable choke tubes because allegedly the choke thread makes them over 20 mm bore. If this is true, this asserts my belief that this is the 1st step towards the total ban on all firearms. Please help however you can! It does not take a lot of effort to send about 50 emails and even fewer FAXes, or to click on 50 forms and copy-paste the same appeal. Thank you, everyone who will join our fight! -

As some of you may have heard already, the government of Canada has banned private possession of almost all semi-automatic and even some bolt-action rifles. They used a legal loophole that they had invented, to prohibit the ownership of about 1500 makes and models of firearms, mostly AR-15, M-14, and everything in the 50 BMG caliber. The gun control in Canada follows in the steps of that in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, since the man actors - the "Coalition for Gun Control" - runs this worldwide disarmament scheme, and our liberal government listens to them. This is coming to the US soon, as the anti-gun left in the US of A plays by the same book. You can help! The idea is to fight the ban with another ban of our own! Not a single gun for the tyrants! Not a single round of ammo for the tyrants! Let us write to each and every gun and ammo manufacturer in the US and ask them to ban sales of guns, parts, accessories, and ammunition to any Canadian government agency. Some US gun manufacturers who value the spirit of the 2nd Amendment already ban sales to the anti-2nd Amendment regimes. One of them is Barrett. They banned sales and services to California and New York government agencies. Our appeal to the listed manufacturers should be: The government of Canada prohibits Canadian people from owing your products. You should prohibit the government of Canada from owing them too, in order to maintain the spirit of the 2nd Amendment, which keeps you in business! The Canadian government has banned you, now you should ban the Canadian government! Below you will see the list of manufacturers whose products Canadian government does not allow people to own. It is enormous! I finally managed to make a Cthulhu mask
DrmCa replied to mariuspirvu's topic in Patterns and Templates
Wow! This mask is so cool! Congrats! -
I am curious about the origin of the Carl Zeiss stamp!
-
I believe that it has been discovered that COVID spreads not only via droplets but via airborne virions too. Masks might be non-efficient to useless. Especially less than N95, homemade masks. As to stitching textiles, you want polyester thread because it is somewhat elastic. Poly wrapped cotton is not elastic. Non-bonded, multi-strand nylon is elastic as well, if you cannot get a hold of poly. Depending on what your technology is, you may be better off using non-spun serger thread since it is the most elastic of all types.

Does the tooled cheek side rub abrasion under recoil? -
Cast iron machines hard but grinds easily. You could rig a dremel or angle grinder to the table of your machine and use it to create the grove, while turning the wheel on the machine. I imagine that a few 2x4x nailed together could do the trick of mounting a dremel steadily. Remember to cover the rest of the machine with tarp, while doing it.

Strange thread on the hold-down screws of a domestic machine
DrmCa replied to DrmCa's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
This is Kenmore. I thought of 15/64 when I saw the diameter on the caliper, but why on Earth would one insist on such an oddball thread when there is 1/4??? -
Hi all, The domestic machine in question is held on its swing-up mount in the table by the two thumb-screws with the 28 TPI thread, and they look like 1/4" but they are not. The major diameter is between 0.227" and .0228" or 5.8mm. I am leaning towards the inch size because it is precisely 28 TPI but no match on the metric side. What thread could this be? I need to chase one of the threads because the screw sticks, but I do not have the matching tap and will have to order it. Thank you!
