Trouble is that in this modern e-commerce day, the competition has moved with the time and make smaller more reasonable profit percentages on their goods whilst Tandy still live in the past watching slowly declining customer base apart from last resort buyers especially for the higher priced items like machines Being a Elite customer by being ex service is nice but it must insult the non elite to have to pay a higher price for the same item, I cannot think of any other business using the same tactics. Hi Thanks for the info, the names look great I have just signed up for Fusion 360 which is free for the full version as a hobby person. far exceeds the other software in ease of use and selection of tools, there is a handy new book "Fusion 360 for makers"by Lynda Sloan Cline, it is designed for 3D printers with good talk through projects One thing i have found out about my printer is the time taken to get the pad to fully hot, it shows the heat at correct but when you try a print it fails in some places, but if you then clean that off and immediately start again its all ok, i guess the sensor is in one position and it takes more time to spread evenly over the whole pad Can you say what the difference is between PLA and PLA+, at present just using a cheap PLA and getting good results after hours and hours of leveling, apart from the above what else do you make Are your stamps made with straight edges to the letters or do they widen towards the base i.e. triangular shape rather than rectangular Bit surprised that not many using this part of the forum Chris

Sorry I think you are over stating the problem or even if there is a problem at all, there is so much basic information around for the beginner to use be it books or from stores like Tandy who have fantastic help video's and notes, just like anyone can spend under £50 and buy a leather kit of assorted parts on ebay to trial the hobby at low cost That is all without including the fantastic help given by members of the Leather workers forum

I am 72 and consider myself quite young, so that old 45K is really just a teenager, but for sure out lasted many 1980 era machines and probably running as smooth as when it was made How come that sewing machines at 100 still work perfectly , Old steam engines nearly as good yet car and bike engines only last in general a few years and need maintance quite often at great expense
