Maybe a couple of coats of marine varnish would make a good sealer and a high gloss finish

If you are doing that many, then maybe a ARBOR press would do the job with the punch screwed or welded to the stock, there is a ARBOR press on ebay at 0.5 ton for £37 in the uk Only hard bit is fitting a punch to the stock, possibly tap the end with a screw thread Anyway just a idea

Just think of the bored people out there doing jobs in say a city with hour or more crowded transport to and from home doing exactly the same job day in day out year in and so on Then think about being your own boss working from home, or nearby, maybe with a nice view, working the hours that suit you, doing work you enjoy. Do you still need motivation?

Welcome Plenty of places sell leather offcuts of various sizes which is a cheap way to make small items and practic on Etsy.com has a good selection of leather tools mostly made in the Far East which are ok for hobby guys and very cheap but reasonable quality just a wait for delivery, other site shown on the top of the page are good suppliers for the US Market

Most people just apply one or two layers of resolene over the finished item, which gives a protective layer, you dont soak it just use a dabber and cover it like you would a dye then after its dried say 24 hours apply another coating

The answer is No you need a light machine for light leather and a heavy one for heavy leather, there is none that do both jobs -

For those living in the Uk there was a bit in the news today about a woman getting into trouble with some python skin items, apparently some skins are banned in the uk from endangers animals, with big potential fines, so worth checking first before you buy this type of skin

Buying Keestar Sewing Machine 441 Directly From China..
chrisash replied to korokan's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
It's a constantly changing senario, with undeveloped countries offering low cost items due to cheap labor costs and then its own market develops and makes costs increase and the buyers move to the next lower cost area and so on, China has seen massive cost rises over the last decade and other countries less developed in the area are taking parts of its work at cheaper prices. The UK was the worlds largest ship builder then it all went to Japan and now Korea has taken most from Japan -
