  1. Thank you for the info about Ivan stamps. I got a bunch recently and I probably would have tried something odd if you hadn’t warned me.
  2. Are we sure it’s not a really light blue thread? Lovely work.
  3. Hmm, interesting.
  4. Still valuable information... if you have gone a day without learning, you have wasted your day.
  5. Cool!
  6. It looks like it’s been sanded down, did it come that scuffed?
  7. Not unless you fiddle, eat mushrooms or figs.
  8. That’s nice to know. Her book really hit some marks for me and mine. If I do the coasters, do you think she would be interested in seeing them?
  9. I think he meant raw as in new and fresh to use, not untanned and just bleeding. It is a beautiful color. Would it still knock the scales off if you made sure they were pointed away from the buckle... oh, but then they would rub poorly on the pant loops. I see. Bother.
  10. I found a book called Dangerous Minds by a Jenny Lawson. It’s kind of a coloring book in which she has drawn pictures. She likes circles and bubbles and has done some really fun stuff in them. One of my friends is a coaster fiend. I’m making coasters. Also deer skin gloves for my sister. Finishing another hat for Dad, another purse with a liner. Belts for the brothers in law instead of candied nuts. There may be riots.
  11. Actually, if you are going for mad max, post apocalyptic, then flesh tones peaking through isn’t a bad way to go. I thought it hit the nail on the head in the second picture. Kind of raw meatish. Also, I have been told if you grind up black leather into a dust, you can add Leather Weld to it and cover the pink stuff with it. Apparently, you can make it have a pebbled appearance like the old leather. It shouldn’t dry hard like superglue.
  12. Oh, and the letter parts are not what you need to give the cashiers if you’re calling in an order. The number you’re looking for to ensure ease of purchase is going to start either with a 6, a 66, or a 68. And although most of them end in 00, a few of them that are pairs or left/right stamps end in -01,-02, -001, or -002. Sometimes you might get lucky and find someone who has aaaaalll the letters and number sequences memorized, but kindness asks for the 6.....-... number.
  13. Beautiful wood color. Or is that just wet glue color?
  14. Maybe just make a rubber band ball of the correct size? If they aren’t going to be smacked around maybe that would work? You can get those at Office Depot...
  15. Probably you can get plastic/vinyl strapping at sewing stores like Joanne’s, Hancock/Michael’s or such. Many online fabric places have straps. Maybe you can heat the straps or the stamps to melt the vinyl a bit so that you get a leather working effect? Oh! Polymer clays! You could stamp the shapes into a thin sheet of polymer clay and then adhere it to the bracelet or journal cover, or whatever!
  16. That looks great. My son’s and my efforts turn into “theft protection devices”, nobody can see where to grab them at.
  17. I like him best!
  18. I just lie. But then I haven’t tried to join any groups. Just family and friends. Mostly they already know where I live...
  19. Couldn’t you use a fine point silver gel pen, like from Dick Blick’s?
  20. You are a mad man! Brilliant! That is a beautiful job!
