  1. for me it was just part of the knife sale, you buy my knife you get my sheath too. Now i make more leather goods than knives, quicker and faster and much easier. most of my sales are for what the customer wants i've found not all people like what i like or will buy what i think they should like but they always buy what they like whether i like it or not. LOL now say that real fast
  2. you could be. imagine a contract for a thousand of what you make. with someone elses logo, it happens all the time.
  3. if some one wants you to make products without your name on them so they can re sell them its time for a contract. Thats business.
  4. hard to say without more info and or pictures, if tanned they will be soft and flexable and if wetted they will stay flexable after drying. pickling is one step of the tanning so a guy could possibly finish the process. you will have to experiment with some pieces IMO.
  5. a gardenian, they wear beautiful white hats in thier country. i have lilacs which will be blooming very soon as well as wild roses. i dug the wild rose years ago from the mountains close by. The smell of the two together in the early morn is unbelievable.
  6. it depends on how they were tanned or specificly if they were tanned at all. most have only been pickled and why they are cheaper to buy.
  7. What a great routine. man i love watching critters of every kind, go on a walk in the country every mornig sure puts a guy into the right frame of mind.
  8. we have an abundance of ring necked doves here, they are an invasive species so....... They are yummy.
  9. lol my daughter raises rabbits, just butchered five. Some of the best eating meat available. She started at the age of 12 and it was made clear they were for eating. She doesn't liek to butcher but she has no problem eating them. I think every person should spend a year on a farm. you should try my bread and butter jalapenos slices. Friggin awesome.

  14. My wifes great grandfather retired from the railroad at the age of 89 two years ago went to work for them after he retired at 70. the reason young folk didnt work out wasn't becasue of the work enviroment it was because they couldn't pass a piss test or stay clean after they were hired.
  15. hey those look pretty good for glue indeed.
  16. thank you i appreciate your nice comments. Brass is one of my favorite colors lol. you would be surprised i sell far more plain holsters than tooled i guess people around here are just good old plain folks. Or my tooling sucks. lol
  17. that would be fun indeed. i have cooked alot of fish in tinfoil just wrapped and thrown into the hot coals. Just add a chunk of butter salt and pepper and your ready to eat in about ten minutes. same with spuds but they take longer to cook lol. Now i want to go fishing even more it was warm for a couple of days, woke up to an inch of fresh snow this morning.
  18. my dad had a complete set from 10" to 24" we still have them and we used them all. Camping out and hunting as a family, the large 24 was the one we used to bury most often witha huge roast and all the fixins, potaoes carrots onions etc, man after being buried all day cooking when you pop the lid off the smell is out of this world after agood day in the country. THey are some of the best outdoor cooking equipment there is.
  19. Not good friend just learned this way there were no cad programs when i went to school this was the way we did things. as always i wish you good luck it just takes practice leather work isn't rocket science its leatherwork, cave men did it. Same thing with a compass or wing divider only faster, find the center and your good to go. Ps at my age i have lived completly through the computer era. Learned dos before computers had memories lol. many cad programs, inventory progams, spreadsheet programs till the cows come home in the end most are not easier and way not faster just an endless learning curve of obsolete programs and upgrades. Just my opinion based on personal experience of course. I have two daughters that draw digitaly, one does animation. she built this video thing, an animation that moves and talks to her voice and movements she uses the character on things like youtube. I'm not bashing modern technology by any means it has its place.
