i like that design friend. -
Its a good choice for lower price decent knives, alot of customs are made from it and really a round knife doesn't necessarily need to cost 200 bucks or be the toughest steel in the world to be good we need to remember Tandy sells to hobbyists mostly so they may only use the thing a couple times a day or less where a pro may want and can afford a better steel that holds up for serious daily cutting. 62 Rockwell hardness is plenty and it will do that if treated right.

d2 has been used for years in knife making and is pretty good quality steel, that would lead me to believe the problems are associated with the hardening and tempering processes. Quality control issue IMO as we can see from the posts some folks get good knives and some don't.

those rebar buckles are super cool imo, how redneck can you get lol.

they are fun as heck to throw with. i keep one in my hunting pack and use it to scare game out of the trees. You can toss a stone a good long ways for sure and they are really accurate after some practice. A black powder ball pouch such as this would work well and you could hang it from a thong around the neck.

Those are great yea I'm a noob lol. -
No more than cutting out a regular pattern. I have spent most of my whole working career over 30 years learning computer technology all the way from dos and a floppy disc to cad drawing, i have had enough of that crap. Learn, update, relearn, update, oops now its obsolete, spend more money, relearn ,update blah blah blah etc not for me any more i do leather because its fun and relaxing. If i wanted to learn another program it wouldn't be for building more plastic junk to throw in the dumps. Anyway enough of my tech rant I bet you could also make them out of wood ,similar to the stamps they use for printing on cloth or paper.

lol yea me neither i was way off!! "Andy Anderson Design Western Walk & Draw Gun Belt and Holster Set as patterned by Andy Anderson and made famous by Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood among many others. The famous Western Walk & Draw Gun Belt and Holster Set is also known as the Spaghetti Western Gun Belt and Holster Set as well. This Andy Anderson design was unique in a variety of design factors with the most notable being a Reinforced Holster with a contoured Hip Plate for stability." So is that why john Wayne walked like he did? lol i posted a really interesting video on the history of movie holsters a long time ago on another thread here i will have to re-watch it i guess. what is interesting is the fact that the movie gun holsters were reinforced so that the cylinder could rotate while still in the holster allowing you to draw and cock at the same time, that is what made the quick draw.

My first leather jacket
chuck123wapati replied to 29k15engine's topic in Clothing, Jackets, Vests and Chaps
beautiful work friend that jacket rocks! I would love the the thicker leather its gets colder than he## here but the wind is what is the worst, pushes that cold right through regular clothing. -
Both look great!!! yea its a slim Jim, IMO, the only difference is because of the revolver shape. The slim jims were made for the black powder guns of the day that had the reloading lever under the barrel so have another little hump. Dont know much about the term walking holster i figure it is something left over from days past when they had pommel holsters and such that identified the holster as being carried on the hip or belt. You would get a pommel holster for you saddle and a walking holster for when on foot. Some folk put in a welt that matches the width of the trigger guard then taper it down as it follows the barrel, i never have but it reduces the stretch caused by the trigger guard in that area as it is used over time.

its a great idea very easy and simple.

i agree with you for once, whoda thunk it. But lets say it for what it is they treat their people like slaves and steal the intellectual property of every other country so they don't pay the necessary living costs or design costs that the rest of the world does. They spend their money on influencing politicians in every country.

it looks to me like it is one really big stamp used with a press of some kind.

Americans celebrated Independence Day on July 4th, the date the much-publicized Declaration of Independence was approved, rather than on July 2nd, the day the resolution of independence was adopted in a closed session of Congress. With their yes votes, the members of the Continental Congress became traitors to Great Britain and wanted criminals. That is why Ben Franklyn uttered his famous line, “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”

Thank you friend!
