  1. Tv made some radical holster inventions in order to please its customers. The holsters were often lined with steel or rawhide also so the cylinder could rotate as the gun was being drawn, this allowed for the shooter to cock the weapon faster it also led to the modern fast draw competitions we know today. I'll try and post a video about it that I ran across .https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=cowboy+action+fast+draw&qpvt=cowboy+action+fast+draw&view=detail&mid=CFF9431B379BBA2D6AA5CFF9431B379BBA2D6AA5&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dcowboy%2Baction%2Bfast%2Bdraw%26qpvt%3Dcowboy%2Baction%2Bfast%2Bdraw%26FORM%3DVDRE
  2. so then how are 30 degree cant, crossdraw and shoulder holsters legal if that is the case? I'm just asking because I don't do this? They seem contradictory. seems the barrel could be straight down as it "leaves leather" even with a forward cant but the cant wouldn't help much
  3. on some of my mountain man stuff i'll use a simple antler button and leather loop or two buttons with leather lace/cord wrapped around figure 8 style. I like that strap closer.
  4. ditto and if your by yourself some will steal you blind while your back is turned.

  6. I have to agree with Tug also I posted a possible solution to his problem, That has been used for centuries by businesses, but as he always does just shot it down. So my new "theory" God helps those who help themselves. good luck friend.
  7. wooden model here too!! Life is to short for math.Ten minutes with a scroll saw and your done.
  8. That's where a more personal partnership would help, yea you cant trust everybody or anybody but you can trust somebody, its been done for centuries and still today businesses have buyers that handpick Think Japanese fish market just for an example. Its a sensible suggestion and would end your problems. Retailers obviously aren't doing it so have it done by someone you can trust.
  9. I can understand completely the problems with ordering online and I have one suggestion as this is supposed to be a community of like minded people why cant someone who lives near these stores offer their service to those who don't and set up some arrangements to handpick hides for those who cant. It would be worth the headache and returns, lost time, lost money etc. just to pay or barter a bit to get what you need AND the stores would learn firsthand what the customer wants.
  10. that's a great idea I see that also and I think it would be easier to search.
