Hi, I am hoping someone can help me identify an issue with my new cobra class 26 sewing machine. I just received it on Monday and assembled it yesterday, which seemed rather straightforward. I just got the machine turned on and running this morning and am concerned about this loud sound the machine is making while in use. It seems to be coming from under the machine. I reached out to leather machine co. but am awaiting a response. I was hoping someone in the meantime could offer any insight. Please check out the videos. Thank you! IMG_3123 (4).mov

I started leatherwork originally to make harnesses. So I bought a whole side of leather I feel like maybe I am missing some steps. First I use my strap cutter to cut the leather. Then I use tokonole and a glass burnisher for the back side of the leather. So it's not all fuzzy. Once dry I bevel the edges. Then the lengthy process of burnishing the edges. And then I Punch out the holes for buttons or snaps or rivets. And this is where I begin to stress out because I don't understand the "finishing processes" the leather isn't tooled and I won't be antiquing. But I've seen so many things online that says to use a balsm or a bees wax/olive oil concoction. Or resolene or pro resist and so on.... Does anyone have any advice for me

Interested in selling a United Shoe Machinery Company ICM-C leather clicker, used in late 70s and early 80s by my father who made fire bellows for LL Bean. I last saw it up and running in 2015 but have not tried to run it since. Haven’t located a manual for it. Research shows the machine is from 1958, stamped ICM-901. Located in WI northwoods. I’ll help load anyway I can. Also have 500+ feet of Swiss chocolate Heritage leather, grade TR-X and other bellows-making material. Originally purchased from Cudahy Tanning Company out of Cudahy, WI which merged with Prime Tanning Company out of Maine in 2007.

Hi, I found this Durkop-Adler 367 sewing machine available for pick up locally, but I don’t know anything about it. I need a sewing machine that can sew multiple layers of 4-5 oz leather. I currently use various models of Consew RB-1 to RB-5, would this model work on that? Also the asking price is $1500, is that a reasonable price for it? I can’t seem to find a lot of information online. Thank you in advance!

I purchased a sewing machine for a price I couldn't pass up. However, I know nothing about this machine. Any identification related to manufacturer and model have been removed. Here is what I know.... Its a walking foot machine It has the same body/head design as a mitsubishi yu-360/330 and dy models (assessment of online images) It has a gigantic wheel. It was manufactured until the late 1980s Its serial number is 988038 I can't find much info online. Does anyone know what model this machine is? Or know who makes a similar clone? It sews fine now, but Id like to keep the info in my pocket incase it ever needs parts. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a manual?' You guys are awesome! Thanks

I can't remember the last time I posted here but this is what I was recently up to. The day shots were of the actor just before he went to set and the night shot was with a model of our own choosing, shot on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallety at 3am the morning of the production. The skins were primarily latigo

Hi, I have a relatively simple leatherworking job that I'm looking to offer to someone either in/near Norfolk, Virginia, or Portland, Oregon (I live in VA, but the majority of my business is located in OR). I have a straightforward wallet design that I need someone to construct. I'm considering two methods of manufacture. 1) Having the leather laser-cut (including stitch holes) and then hand sewn. 2) Having the wallets die-cut and sewn by machine. Either way, the requirements will be relatively basic. If you live in or near Virginia or Oregon, and have an interest in this work, please let me know by personal message. Further, if you have contact information for someone or some business that may be interested in this work, please forward it to me. FYI, this job probably will not begin for the next few months, but I'm trying to get things in order now. Also, I'm currently at sea with the US Navy, so my response time may be delayed. Thanks!

Well, I finally grew tired of using my substandard edge creaser. I thought of shelling out for the Vergez Blanchard model, but just couldn't part with the cash so I decided to make my own. Solid brass construction with beech wood insert. Threaded brass rivets hold it together and knurled brass knob for adjusting the width. Works like a charm and feels miles better that my old "Tandy" creaser.
