    Johnny I think they used to call it Neat-lac....is now sold under different names....has solvent in it and stinks big time like lacquer thinner....but it works great....coes in a can and canbe applied with brush, cotton or swabb... Apply it thin about two coats or so....u see it wont come off and it will protect well.

    Had the same problems years ago and a very simple trick helped me doing it right the very first time....set your button snap into the anvil and then take your roll-over tool....the striker....and hold it strait int the male part, while you do this, hold the female button pressed down into the leather and male counter part.....your first srike is important....while u press the buttons together and striking the same time...u give the male part time to roll-over/crimp over propperly because all is pressed tight togehter....!!! Works evry time and you will not loose any snaps anymore due to missed roll-overs...or crimps. try it... Jimbob

    Using clear lac for mine and it dries all the way in seconds....later apply some leather cond. like Aussies and never had a problem!! I do bike seats and this stuff stays on for years!!!!

    My pail of stitchers.. My favorite..Adler 105-64, my work horse Adler 267...nice, my baby, Singer 99K, my old one Singer 188, My stable one Singer 111-155, my solid as a tank one...Singer 211-155, ohh and had an Adler 30-1...sold it....could just about cry about been that fulish...haha..my next one is an Adler 205..ahhhhh... A Campbell would be next after that...u know, the one sews over a new penny!!!!!!!!!!!Jimbob

    Second ya on this hobby not being cheap anymore .leather prices going through the roof. the picture could be better.not seeing much details..what I can see is you did well on the wet forming and boning, the edges look like they been burnished, the design is cool but the carving went shallow when wet formed..there is not much you can do about it.. I dont care muchfor the finish.but that couldbe the picture...all in all this is good work for a first timer!! Jimbob

    Round needle to stitch and use re-enforcement with leather from the back....double seems on stress points and ur done....

    Girl you rock...!! This seat is killer....not just that it is for a great cause....pull my hat for all service members....but it is soooo cool looking! Love the cursive writing/carving...man, I cant hardly cut a straight line..haha... Again, super fine work and super cause.... Jimbob

    cool seat, but black...szzzzz...ohhh well, all these super details u had in that face are somewhat lost....BUT, the customer always gets what he wants....kinda like my wife!!!! The shaped wooden form is cool but soon u will have to make different seats and shapes so making a form for each will not be economical! Most all of us tool flat and then form and shape. I have tooled on ready moled leather right on the seat,,,,but there was NO foam involved....so called hard ass chopper seats... You have great talent in tooling, so try to do different seats and shapes and soon you will be on your way...nice work. Jimbob

    Nice design, love the rustic loo....take some Fiebings saddle soap and a piece of cloth...rubb hard and finish with some beeswax...no need for a machine or such....ohh and put some dye on your edges too...cool wallet !!Well done... James

    Hoolly macooroni tomsiliooni!!! Nice, and I mean super nice....dont care for the bag style...70s and braided...brrr...but thats just me...super motive and absolutly awesome carving and love the colors!!! That is one hell of a bag, the lay out and the finish is sweet too!! Well done, now all you have to do is make a cool briefcase with this design and add flames! You did well... greetings Jimbob

    I use also a metal hammer....and every so often I grind of the edges/mushrooming, so it wont be an safety issue.

    I juse the cheep arse acrylic paint from the hobby store and dont do to thick of a layer, rather 2-3 thin ones....then seal it with rubbed on clear laquer, have done many bike seats and paintings are still on...after many miles of riding!! James.

    I use an Adler 105-64 and rounded head plate....been making many of these kind of bags over the last 4 years...
