  1. Dude, that is an amazing level of skill, painting and embossing. Wow!
  2. Those turned out amazing, and that is a lot of hand sewing. Excellent work.
  3. Thanks for the comments, everyone. I'm working on a tool roll at the moment and trying to figure out some tooling to put on it. Pics to come eventually.
  4. I think you've done a great job on your first bag. Well done.
  5. Wow. That is a ton of excellent work. The bags at the end look very nice.
  6. Nice work.
  7. Man, that thing is huge. Can it actually be unsheathed? I guessing that's why you didn't make one long scabbard, but instead almost two separate pieces. Nice job making it work.
  8. A keychain, a couple patches and some tooling practice.
  9. I really like what you have done and wanted to ask you a couple questions about the figure carving. I am trying to learn more about figure carving myself and how to create depth, or the illusion of depth. I notice the background behind the floral carving is dark, but not the figure. Is that just because you didn't want the front to be that dark? It is hard to tell if you dyed the floral background or if you just antiqued the whole thing. So I am curious what did you do? I really like how you have his hand behind the gun on his hip. That is great. I also really like the way the brim of his hat appears to stick out closer than the side of his head. Nice work.
  10. I've been looking to make a tool roll for myself, and this idea for a fold out bag is really cool. I found these versions of a similar idea to the OP. maker
  11. The clean cuts and level of detail is impressive. The feathers at the bottom must have taken a lot of practice.
  12. You have my condolences Frodo. She sounds like she was an awesome person.
  13. Exactly what I was thinking. Neat idea. I feel the same. 3D print stamps would be cool, but this is something I can do with a limited budget and technical know how.
  14. I agree with Chuck123wapati. Mandalas are interesting things and the closest I can find with individual tools is something like this. Here is a link to a page that helps you create your own mandalas and lists the leatherworking tools too: design your own mandala

Nice work PastorBob. I will have to try making some of these.
  16. Nice clean work, chuck123wapati. The airbrushed colours are very subtle. I am going to have to look into airbrushing at some point too.
  17. The piece of leather I started this on is oddly shaped, so putting a border on it wasn't feasible. I did try dyeing it with diluted colors. The only paint I used was bright green on the corneas in the eyes. I'm not sure what to do with it next. I will probably put some resist on it and then antique it, unless someone has a better idea. Let me know what you think. Thanks
  18. Thanks HaloJones, kiwican, chuck123wapati and PastorBob. I appreciate the comments. Hopefully my sister likes it too.
  19. Your hand stitching is amazing. That camo wallet with the green pockets is very nice. Well done sir.
  20. Well for better or worse it is done, unless I decide to use an antique on it, but I don't think I will. Please let me know what you guys think.
  21. I think he might be talking about embossing. A really good, easy to follow book is available free online through tandy leather. Here is the link to Al Stohlman's book on embossing. https://tandyleather.com/blogs/leathercraft-library/the-art-of-embossing-leather-by-al-and-ann-stohlman
