Please can you tell me what servo you brought and any mods to it
-
Looking at the Jack 513A does anyone have any knowledge of it See it comes in 550 watt and 750 watt with only £20 difference in price 750 watt has top speed of 3500 compared to 550 at 4500 so does this mean a probable lower starting speed i.e. 100 rather than 200rpm Can you overpower machine in normal use Be nice if we had a section on servo motors and what people thought of their model for use on leather

Anyone know the average sizes of industrial tables and will they fit into a estate car without the head -
I use evo-stick works well and after 24 hours will not fail, about a £5 a tin Clear the area to be glued using sandpaper Spread layer on both sides When touch dry, put both sides together and using a hammer tap together Leave for 24 hours to fully set

Would a more middle of the road say a 3200 offer you a wider range of use? If you leave it a while, import tarifs may come down depending on who gets in and the long term view

This Art Form Is Going Straight To Hell

O for looking back with memory days of happy days where all was right with the world, Get Real Life has changed for good Tandy may well have been a nice friendly place to learn and maybe buy some tools in the past, but please get real , retail has changed massively in the last 40 odd years, there is no slack anymore, wages have risen meaning that every employer must earn far far more that 3 times their wages in sales profit just to break even, so in retail nothing is free anymore Stock cost a fortune to buy, hold and transport, all those small packets on the racks selling just one or two items a week do not make money to the company We all now buy on the internet and all of us complain about transport costs, yet give no thought to the retailer restocking shops on a regular basis and the logistic staff at HQ arranging it all plus the warehouse costs Tandy is facing huge competition from the internet worldwide and has to compete, its shareholders are only investing or buying shares to make a PROFIT, not to be a nice place to meet and buy a 8$ stamp -
Use Resolene two layers at 50% and 24 hours between layers Run and try

Maybe a bit long for what you want

You place the thread under the presser foot and if there is enough pressure it works fine
-
What happened to that American who was going to make a new super thread a couple of years ago, he seemed to have got to the sample stage and then nothing else heard
-
They may be out of your price range , but you can get cylinder machines with much longer cylinders than these
-
How did you get on with the 4 piece one and what did you use for a press, it is the one i thought of buying but never took it further Were you please with the results and so did they last more than a couple of uses?

That is the method used in the hobby card making kits a lot of ladies like using https://www.craftstash.co.uk/spellbinders-platinum-6-a5-die-cutting-embossing-machine.html?___store=default&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5eX7BRDQARIsAMhYLP9HMVUMsoNaoCC555xk_O5Bt3bcYOgrkimf0S53UR5y6x2CNrpJoB8aAi4GEALw_wcB I did notice there was a Russian who was making acrylic embossed templates with belt designs on, where you could use a large manual press to emboss onto a belt

ADLER 205 is dropping stitches, fraying etc.
chrisash replied to HazelB's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I think the problem is in threading the machine, that twisted thread is not right in the photo Try re-threading Try a new cone of thread- 5 replies

You may find that the UK's British Museum will have the information you require, it basically covers everywhere the empire covered plus more. also the UK regiments often have museum's and locals at the time may well have used discarded military items Reference from the UK show In the 1700s, taxes were being imposed on ads created by the government; however this did not stop businesses from creating adverts and promoting their goods/ services. In London, for example, an impressive 24% to 75% of newspaper content was actually in the form of adverts. This created a huge amount of income for both the newspapers and the businesses advertising. Maybe also covered by local newspapers in the US at that time -
How to get your products to sell well
chrisash replied to RockyAussie's topic in Marketing and Advertising
It is hard to patent leather items as original as most items have been made before and just altered a bit, there are thousands of Wallet designs, Card holders, Belts, Pancake holsters, western holsters and so on, that none meet the invented part of applying for a patent or unique The big companies do patent some items like the Birkin bag but generally its just a specific part of the design rather than say the basic bag -
If you have a laser with a large enough bed then the set up time would be small and you would be able to work on something else whilst the laser did its job cutting maybe 25 or more at a time depending on bed size and design size A Clicker press would be a major investment whilst the laser probably far cheaper 100 watt 900x600 mm bed about £3000 Also simple to design one offs rather than investing in Knifes

Marketing is not looking at competition and copy their price You can control your price by good marketing, which is giving a person a good reason to buy the item at your price It may be just explaining your story where your leather came from and how it was made, what your QC is like, or you can spend millions telling the same story with variations just like Hermes, Rolls Royce or LV or any other premium company does A website, Etsy or Facebook are all marketing area's that most people just display there goods just like a store front window, little or no effort made to give a reason to the buyer to buy, Information is king, a Photo may sell a item at $50 where the whole story may get you double that with more customers. Look at the advertising and marketing Apple does to sell its over priced items If you are any size business you know your costs down to the last penny its in your monthly accounts under Profit and Loss and Balance sheet, but i guess many small businesses just don't bother with accounts apart from year end when they find out that profit they thought they had has disappeared
