I always thought vinegar was used because it eats up the iron quickly. I use it first on any rusted metals before buying store bought chemicals. Might have to try just water but i think it would take forever and a day to dissolve enough iron. Do you use your iron sulphate in water?

Yup an air lock because you don't want wild yeasts from the air to spoil your wine. it would do no real good for roon.

Beautiful bag!!! The Chicago Bears have played over 1,000 games in their history, and have had eight NFL Championships victories and one Super Bowl win. The Bears' nine championships are the second most by any team in NFL history. The franchise has captured 18 NFL divisional titles and four NFL conference championships. I used to be a bears fan. -

a wallet would be a good thing to try. Do you know what kind of leather it is? Chrome tanned or veg tanned? -
the biggest difference i found was between the blade shapes. I prefer the 1/4' angle blade over the straight blade. it seems to make turns much easier.

YES weather you can get a grant or not both personally and for the young folks you will be mentoring. Just my opinion but i believe the more personal knowledge you can pass on the better its something people just cant google to get and it will be lost.

if your file was wouldn't cut it then it is good high carbon steel however you don't know what type so normalizing it and then re-tempering might or might not get you a good blade as you don't know the proper temps to do that, steel types have different temps and processes so not knowing the steel type is the problem, also not knowing the steel type you don't know how hard it can get. It could also have been work hardened. Having said that i would if i wanted to try and make a blade from it would carefully cut and grind it without trying to heat it and lose its current temper. I have made a few knives from saw blades and they work well but it is time consuming. Use water to keep it cool as you grind it, if you discolor the blade then you have changed the temper. thats a great looking first try and will do the job if you haven't lost the temper.

i just bought two or three of these, they were on clearance and were cheaper to buy than the hardware on them. I bought them for the hardware so just cut it off and tossed them in the bin i can deconstruct one if you would like to see how these were made. But they are just a piece of leather for the center then sandwiched inside a thinner piece and sewn down the side and rounded a bit. Store bought isn't as nice as most here would make so deconstructing might not help alot.

I was wondering how you measure the holster placement on the belt so the holsters come out in the right place on the hip. -
