  1. Veg tan is fairly stiff. if you want to make it more pliable there are several leather conditioners out there. Rub some Mink oil into the raw leather , or google leather conditioners.
  2. I hope it works OK for you. I to have hand troubles, my 60 watt co2 cuts 7-8 oz veg tan in one pass. It also engraves very fine details when I use low power.I realize the cost difference is substantial but I found it worth the difference. also no wife to answer to LOL
  3. Ferg I have a 60 watt Rabbit co2, sure I could make smaller holes but then you still have the black soot getting the thread and black when sewing. I just find the chisels make much cleaner and neater holes
  4. awesome
  5. Very cool Chuck. I have several NAA Minis and I make all my own holsters for them. But my EDC is my NAA Black Widow 22 mag 2" brl. I usually carry it on my belt , T shirt covers it nicely , but I sometimes just drop it in my pocket. I laughed when I first read your post, thought it said " I was drinking yesterday " lol drinking and guns don't mix, glad I read it twice.
  6. I love my laser
  7. Good looking shealth. I tried having the laser cut the holes. I got so many comment about the large holes I went back to using the stitching chisels . I have the laser cut a line where my holes will be then punch out with the chisel. This embeds the thread just a little and helps with wear on the threads.
  8. Those are beautiful I'd be proud to have them on my bike or my horse if I could find one LOL
  9. I bought a box of 10 cheap readers on ebay and just leave a pair in each room and the car, Problems solved LOL
  10. dont clic infected
  11. I think Javalina are protected
  12. My fear would be putting a rivet thru any kind of rubber or silicone tubing will rip out in short order. I think wrapping several winds of a strong thread would work better. JMHO
  13. I can just dream of doing work like this.

Its a Beautiful and thoughtful gift and I'm sure they will appropriate it. I spend a lot of time with my best friend his wife and their dogs I love Photography and Dogs are fun to photograph. When their Irish Setter Passed I looked thru my Pictures of Her and found a nice one and made a large canvas print for them. They loved it and hung it in their home office.

    Enjoy it

Beautiful work and welcome to the forum
  16. Nice repair job looks awesome. 1 thing if I may. I think I would have sewn the D rings and velcro I think they will get a lot of pressure on them with you putting your feet up and down all the time and eventually I think the rivets might pull out. Just my thinking.
  17. I have no experience with lightburb or grbl I do all my design work in Corel Draw and then transfer to laser. Theres a free program called Inkscape that you can design in and then transfer to laser. Don't know what format these diodes need. I don't think any design software is super easy to learn, they all have a big learning curve from what I can see. looking at this pecker 1 you guys know that for about $400 you can get a Co2 40 watt laser engraver cutter that will do all you want to do and more and probably easier to learn . Theres a ton of people on here using co2 and will be more then happy to help you thru the learning curve. There not hard to use and do a better and faster job then any diodes. just my 2¢
  18. Looks really great That letter A looks familiar , like from a White Collar episode
  19. 3D laser printer is what we have it's just a co2 laser engraver cutter. Don't fall for the BS glowforge tries to feed you.
  20. yep very nice and on my list also
