  5. One other thing , I wrote OMtech ask them the size of their 40 watt tube , they told me it was 700 mm 50 mm Dia. This is not a true 40 watt tube. They mislead you, yes it puts out 40 watts but not a steady 40 watts, its a burst and then drops down to under 30 watts doing the actual work. A true 40 watt tube is 1010 mm long 50 to 55 mm dia

  10. Dwight if you want to do any serious cutting and engraving of leather, wood, acrylic and many other materials your going to want a CO2 laser between 60 and 80 watts and please don't even consider a glowforge . Rabbit Laser USA is in central Ohio. I would suggest you take a trip to them and have them give you a demo. You can see what they do .Bring some leather with you they'll demo if for you. You don't have to buy one just go see them in action. That way you'll know exactly how they work and what they can do in person.
  11. I'm having a problem with the snapping turtle guy. I ordered a Buckskin hide, he sent me a green hide. I emailed and he said he'd make it right but now I haven't heard from him in 4 days. No refund and no new hide on the way like he said he'd do.. I'll wait another day to see if he responds then neg review

  14. My biggest threat is beveling tools LOL I know when they need sharpening they will slip and jab my fingers ouch.Fortunately I try to keep up with my sharpening so it doesn't happen to often . Many many years ago I cut the top of my thumb off on a table saw. I was cutting a long trim board and it kicked back and my thumb kept going forward. They sewed it back on , but to this day I have no feeling in it. Guess maybe that helps when I'm hand stitching and push a needle into it
  15. I think trying to make stamps with a 3d printer will cost to much and take a long time. a 60 watt co2 laser can do delrin stamps pretty quickly compared to other methods
