  1. That's beautiful! Amazing what the kids "need" made out of leather when they have a source lol. That will be an heirloom piece for sure.
  2. Didn't mean to overtake the thread. Thanks for your well-wishes. Will definitely keep you updated.
  3. Thanks. It was to be a labor of love. My wife and best friend of 35 years passed suddenly in March of this year. Most of the house was designed with her in mind (and a lot of her input, especially the kitchen). She was a Godly woman (as described in Proverbs 31) and is in her eternal home. Oh to meet her again one day..
  4. It does a body good when you hear that kind of praise from a previous customer. Glad he got back with you and that you shared it with us.
  5. Sorry about that @Bert03241, I have my store in vacation mode at the moment. All my stuff is in a storage unit as I finish building my house/ shop. Hope to be back in business by January. You can check out the progress of the build here. And here is the most recent short video
  6. Love the camo stamp as a rising sun. Very creative.
  7. Definitely functional. That is the main purpose for sure. Another consideration would be to line the interior to avoid have a patch.
  8. wonderfully done. that is some fine work. The detail is fantastic!!!

    Hello!

Welcome from SW Missouri! Glad to have you aboard. Lots of good information from around the world.
  10. Great job on that! lots of buckles for sure. I love wearing watches, but my day job is in Food manufacturing and we can't wear rings, watches, or necklaces...
  11. I had to do a double take. That is a fantastic job on that feather. I couldn't tell what was used as the fastener holding it on the hat. What are those?

    Past and Present

Wow! impressive. I love the legs of the boy hanging over the border. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Looking good for sure. Congrats on the successful change in eating habits too. It can be hard. Something to consider on the next cross draw build...put a little more cant in the holster so it is at a more natural angle to draw across your body. You did a great job of matching the dye colors on those two pieces. Can't wait to see more of your work.
  14. Thanks for that intro to Serge. You're right. Fun to watch and very informative.
  15. Those are super! God Bless America!!!
  16. Beautiful craftsmanship. Love the stamping on it. I like to add a little curve to mine at the top so it doesn't look like it is straight across the top. Nice work!!
  17. I have noticed when using imported leather versus, say Hermann Oak, the depth of cut is not as deep and the beveling as well. Like @chuck123wapati mentioned, are you casing the leather real good before cutting / stamping?
  18. Welcome from SW Missouri. Sorry for your loss. As @Hags mentioned, there are lots of great videos on how to make holsters and plenty of good examples here as well. Just do a search for holsters and you will see a wide variety. There are pattern packs out there you can buy as well. On I got and am happy with is from Slick Bald. https://www.springfieldleather.com/Pattern-Holster-AvengerPack Good luck! And make sure to share your photos as you go.
  19. Good use of small pieces. I have 4 large rubbermaid tubs of them. Could make lots of coin purses. Looks great with wrinkles.
  20. Very nice. beats the wooden box from years ago where I keep my unused dice. Superb!
  21. Welcome to the forum from SW Missouri, USA. You have come to the right place. There are folks here that make clothing, including leather jackets and a wealth of information on sewing machines and techniques. I have never made clothing, but the type of leather you will need is a thin chrome-tan leather. I would say 1-2 ounce in thickness. Hopefully someone will chime in and give you more information. Good luck.
  22. Wow. Stunning! What goes in it?
  23. Very impressive. I too like the color combo with thread and dye. Nicely done.
  24. Great job on the stitching and the color choice. Great job!
  25. Well done. I love all the textures. Sure enjoy watching your experience grow.
