So are you saying he should have stitched all the way around in the groove lines or in between the stitching groove and the edge run a beader?
-
IIRC you started on a flat bed, how do like going to a cylinder arm with better access to sew different things?

Reinforcing: Leather case to carry a motorcycle battery
Burkhardt replied to Littlef's topic in How Do I Do That?
I expected by the time I got this far into the thread that Frodo would have had a insane story or video. @Littlef look forward to seeing the carrier when done. -
So is that a specific binding attachment for a 441 or a universal one you made work?
-
Now I'm really confused because the spelling didn't look right but I see it both ways or is it one of those that can be spelled either way?

That is cool as hell.

Flintlock shooting/hunting bag pattern?

You should sell "A day with Frodo", The experience one could get following you around for a day would be priceless. -
You didn't say if they were pricking irons, diamond hole or chisel irons. Unless they are chisels which I doubt, the irons pierce a hole and for the most part don't leave a big hole by design so the stitch/thread is tight in the hole and not loose. Glue it up, punch the holes and run a awl through to temporarily make/stretch the hole bigger to get the needle through.

Something's off, and I cannot figure out what exactly.
Burkhardt replied to HondoMan's topic in How Do I Do That?
My guess is it's how you're cutting it and it's unavoidable. Strap cutters the leathers pulled straight through a vertical blade vs. pressing down and pushing or pulling a blade on the straight edge and the leathers stretching and getting it offline. I gave up on trying to get it straight and now use a straight edge and a pencil then cut the line instead of trying to cut against a straight edge. -
Did the leather dry out at all?

Good podcast you did with Don Gonzales, listened to the one he did with Barry King right before yours.

First things first, turn off what ever you have set on your lettering and please use some punctuation, I can't tell what's a question and where one starts or ends. -
Depends on what you're looking for, floral or geometric? I'm hoping to do shortly a review on a bunch of stamps I got from OKA tools from Japan. I looked at Sozo a lot and price wise the same as BK but I'm trusting the quality, reputation and resale value of BK. Do I own some BK tools, a few. A lot, no can't afford them but the bevelers and a couple others are ones you use every time you tool made sense to spend the money.

A beginner with a hobby goal!

Putting your location in your profile will help for future questions. And if you are willing to spend money for expensive leather I'd suggest buying some cheaper leather to make a practice one. You would have a tough time finding anyone on here that did a first anything without a lot of mistakes.- 24 replies

Looks nice, is the paw stamp from OKA? -
I just checked mine to be sure and your timing is off almost 180 degrees. It's not hard to time but so you get the best explained instructions from @Wizcrafts, @CowboyBob

Looks simple and cleanly done, if only everything turned out like that. -
Material Guides on Juki 441 and Adler 205?
Burkhardt replied to Cumberland Highpower's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Without @Cumberland Highpower showing a pic I still don't know what it looks like. I tried to look at CRC and still can't tell which one it is, you got the link or pic by any chance. -

After looking at that I'm glad you told me not to get that one, I'd never get it to work.
