Members RoycesLeather Posted March 7, 2021 Members Report Posted March 7, 2021 A Box I made to hold my Grandpa's toy motorized train from when he was a kid. Makes a great family keepsake will be enjoyed for years to come. Had a blast making this so I thought I'd share. Thanks Quote

Members YinTx Posted March 7, 2021 Members Report Posted March 7, 2021 I really like how you got the colors on the leather to compliment the colors of the wood, or vice versa. Also, the train scene is phenomenally colored! The whole piece has a great nostalgic aura. Thanks for sharing! YinTx Quote
Members Scoutmom103 Posted March 7, 2021 Members Report Posted March 7, 2021 That's beautiful. What a wonderful way to store a family heirloom. Quote
Members RoycesLeather Posted March 7, 2021 Author Members Report Posted March 7, 2021 Thank you everyone glad you like it. Here is a picture of the inside of the box had trouble attaching it to the original post so hopefully it will go through this time. The train is enclosed in glass and there is a battery operated light that can be accessed from the back. My sister did the scenery on the inside of the box with fabric. So it is truly a family treasure. Thanks for looking Quote

Members Klara Posted June 30, 2021 Members Report Posted June 30, 2021 Wow, I thought it was amazing work when I saw it as "just" a storage box - and then you sow us that it's actually a display case! Brilliant! Quote
Members JayEhl Posted June 30, 2021 Members Report Posted June 30, 2021 Wow, what a cool project. The art work on the train is so well done it looks like its popping out of the leather. Excellent tooling. Quote
