  1. No these are not my personal holsters, they are orders. I have never worn a driving holster so I can't say how they feel while being worn. I would guess it would depend on the persons build. Thanks everyone for all the great comments.
  2. Very nice job. I also like the stitching and everything else about it.
  3. Two reasons why: First of all I learned early in my holster making (20 + years ago) that continued insertion and withdrawal of the gun in the holster wears on the lace but with the thread it will not do that. Second reason I like the way this looks better than if it was laced all around.
  4. Here is a Driving Holster I made for the Bond Arms Snake Slayer IV. The holster is fully lined so no metal is inside the holster. The dye I used is Fiebings oil dye in Saddle Tan, then antiqued. All lacing and stitching is done by hand. The last picture also shows a holster for a Ruger GP100.
  5. If you are tearing apart a finished holster and trying to stamp the leather, I don't think you will get nearly as clear of an impression as you will on a piece of unfinished leather. The best way in my opinion is to start with a good piece of veg-tanned leather and make the holster. You will be much happier with it than trying to stamp a piece of already finished leather.
  6. I keep coming back and looking at this sheath. Once again it is a fantastic job. What kind of dye did you use?
  7. Nice job on the hat. I especially like the hat band. That filigree looks great.
  8. Sheath looks great. Yes it does takes a lot of lace for the Mexican round braid, but it sure looks nice.
  9. Looks like you did a great job. Nice!
  10. I am a minister and so glad to hear that as I have a real interest in our youth as well as the Bible.
  11. I think you did an excellent job on the Bible cover. It looks great and I think I'll keep it in mind to make one some day.
