  1. At one time in my life I lived above a jazz bar, it was a good experience, but in a crappy area of Richmond Virginia. I knew the owner and told him I needed a better car, the car was a New York State winter rat that I had purchased to leave the state. Certain portions of the floor would display the pavement below!!! I left my keys in the car, windows down, outside a bar, in a rough area of town, for well over two weeks. The car was so bad no self respecting thief would touch it! I found a note on the windshield stating that I could sell the car to a junkyard. The $75 I got for the car made me feel like a criminal.
  2. I have been in business for over 13 years and we only advertised our new building (but on the same grounds) to let our customers know where we are, I actually even have some customers come to the house, which they have told others. Yelp is a waste of effort, at the moment (the last three years) and tells the world you are there. But word of mouth is absolutely the best!
  3. Thanks TomE, I have multiple “finger rest” type swivel knives and this knife is the second time I have seen this one, it’s like you barely have to try! Now I’m wanting one
  4. It appears to be a wide strap folded, helps cut down on the stitching and extra work
  5. That pattern looks as though it was cased until it was soggy then crinkled, dried, antiqued, and sealed. Now I have to mess around until I duplicate what’s in front of us
  6. I like em, can’t see em needin anything from my view, I just made a holster with that royal blue and it turned out great, so I then went out and grabbed the green
  7. It’s fan-effin-tastic, congrats on a smart purchase! I have one that was made without the two pre drilled holes for a drop down. When you see fit get a flat bed and the in-line presser foot from Uve Gross. just so you know it’s ready to sew 3/4 of an inch thick items when ever you are ready (something I found out 7 years after purchase)
  8. That holster rocks! But the question I have is where in this world does one find a turtle tail for making a wallet?????
  9. It’s real close to that, the one sent to me has a 3/16 brass rod for threading holes, I have a harbor freight table buffer but it spins way too fast
  10. Frodo, I see I’m not alone, I use a die grinder. I have also ordered a burnishing tool from the “Leather Tool Maker” so I can use the drill press.
  11. I’m so glad there was a picture of a goat (the animal) and they weren’t made for some old guy hshahahahahahahaha!
  12. I have used many hole punches down through the years, straight black ones purchased at hobby stores, silver handled with interchangeable cutting heads, steel punches are great. I have scraps of leather specifically for hole punching, I sharpened em once the day I purchased them. sharpen the outside of the punch ONLY! Sharpening from the inside makes the hole larger on the inside of the shaft and the cut pieces travel up a thinning tunnel which will cause minor problems (jams) the angle at which the punch makes a big difference also. Shallow angles last longer (usually factory ground is best) if the angle is too long it will dull horribly quick and may even cause the sharpened edge to roll (high tin amounts will also do this - even on round knives) im seeing a lot of businesses mix in cheaper metals - like tin, and it is done to help their bottom line TOOL MANUFACTURERS TAKE NOTE - WE WILL PAY THE XTRA DOLLAR, RETURN TO OLD SCHOOL METHODS WHEN MAKING TOOLS china will keep making cheap because folks wanna save a damned penny
  13. Print it out on paper, glue it to card stock, have a cutting die made, it will be faster and use a one ton harbor freight press to push it down
  14. I wanna see it on the wire, side view, that’s just too cool
  15. Explain the numbers in the shield, that Toolbag is awesome
  16. I have been doing leather shhtuff for over 50 years, I try products that are sold from the leather stores I enter personally. I have been on this site for 11 years and would use this place as inspiration or gain the knowledge I don’t have. I have many books that discuss leather, dyes, tools, and other such items. I never knew of these edge finishers and I though that Fiebings and Angeles were the only two contenders, but thanks to you good folks, my addiction worsens! And I live in Central North Carolina where the hobby shops are far to basic compared to what most of us need! I moisten my finger with water, wood slicker, die, slick again. But one of you guys mentioned wax! So I purchased a slicker from the “Leather Toolmaker” and placed it in my drill press, and some items are waxed (mostly biker bags) while others just get the wet finger and the wooden stick. I have purchased items from a handful of ya but still have to trip over some items (like Wild Harry’s items from Aussie) and want to find more but I don’t have much tripping time left! If y’all have knowledge of cool items that make a job easier PM me and I will open a new post and most likely purchase it from ya.
  17. I have the harbor freight compressor and don’t mind being tethered, but my area that it’s used in is constant, I would like an air hose that’s like 25 to 50 feet long so I can go outside from time to time. That being said I’m gonna look up a cordless brush now!
  18. I’m in the USA, is Central Europe a “allowed to have guns” place? I’m asking because we are told so many different things, our present treasonous criminals in charge are saying that it’s safer if the law abiding citizens guns were taken. if you have the gun, could you make a mold out of plaster??
  19. I’m reading this post and wonder why there are no pics of these belts, I might be picturing something completely different in my head
  20. That looks like the guy that does the dragon scales - Sergey Neskromniy
  21. I have the prototypes in my shop, but then the buyers want the larger ones, go figure
