  1. I have been doing leather shhtuff for over 50 years, I try products that are sold from the leather stores I enter personally. I have been on this site for 11 years and would use this place as inspiration or gain the knowledge I don’t have. I have many books that discuss leather, dyes, tools, and other such items. I never knew of these edge finishers and I though that Fiebings and Angeles were the only two contenders, but thanks to you good folks, my addiction worsens! And I live in Central North Carolina where the hobby shops are far to basic compared to what most of us need! I moisten my finger with water, wood slicker, die, slick again. But one of you guys mentioned wax! So I purchased a slicker from the “Leather Toolmaker” and placed it in my drill press, and some items are waxed (mostly biker bags) while others just get the wet finger and the wooden stick. I have purchased items from a handful of ya but still have to trip over some items (like Wild Harry’s items from Aussie) and want to find more but I don’t have much tripping time left! If y’all have knowledge of cool items that make a job easier PM me and I will open a new post and most likely purchase it from ya.
  2. I have the harbor freight compressor and don’t mind being tethered, but my area that it’s used in is constant, I would like an air hose that’s like 25 to 50 feet long so I can go outside from time to time. That being said I’m gonna look up a cordless brush now!
  3. I’m in the USA, is Central Europe a “allowed to have guns” place? I’m asking because we are told so many different things, our present treasonous criminals in charge are saying that it’s safer if the law abiding citizens guns were taken. if you have the gun, could you make a mold out of plaster??
  4. I’m reading this post and wonder why there are no pics of these belts, I might be picturing something completely different in my head
  5. That looks like the guy that does the dragon scales - Sergey Neskromniy
  6. I have the prototypes in my shop, but then the buyers want the larger ones, go figure
  7. RFID Protection? With normal logic wouldn’t a piece of aluminum foil sandwiched between leather work??? Just saying it’s like a thinner aluminum wallet
  8. First off the sellers (most of em) on the internet are not concerned about the market prices. Most of em want you to stop selling your products so they can be the only one. most of those internet sellers won’t be in business four months from now. I just sold a holster for a Smith & Wesson 357 mag lined holster for $200 and that was cheap, charge what you actually have into it and screw the other guy
  9. This collection resembles the lot I have, I have stamps that are no longer in production
  10. hey Aussie, thanks for the educational videos, I never knew what was under that plate until this vid, makes me wonder what else I’m missing! again thanks much for your help and the education
  11. That freaking rocks dude, where did you find that skin? Id like to make one out of copperhead but I’m never thinking of saving the hide when I’m trying not to get bit (copperheads are aggressive) as I look for a clubbing item.
  12. I had purchased a new machine from a guy that is on here. I was getting a clicking noise from the reducer, and it was embarrassingly easy to fix. All I had to do was replace the bearing on the reducer (fly wheel under machine with the 2 belts on it) I also have a patch sewer and it was squeaky after 6 weeks of purchase and I used a bright white light flashlight and found an oiling port behind the main pully on the machine. After four days of constant lubricant the squeak went away. A bad bearing will click and one that’s good won’t. A squeak is ungreased metal on metal and needs to be found ASAP, a bearing that is about to go bad will squeak especially if there is a bit more pressure than it needs. that head is far older than the motor running it. I’m not saying it never happens, but, a belt really doesn’t squeak - it makes a noise like rubbing your hands together in one direction, that also tells you the pulleys aren’t aligned properly. if you are anywhere near central North Carolina I’d be happy to give ya a hand, most bearings can be found at an auto store (they won’t make an uncommon size bearing when there are so many common sizes out there) aligning the pulleys and the motor isn’t hard, it’s just time consuming and kinda intimidating if you have never done it before. I'm in Concord NC, give a direct message I’m easy to get hold of, this goes out to anyone close to my location (close is 250 miles or less)
  13. I agree with Chuck, what’s the pull weight? Can you easily remove it? Can you get closer pictures? What is it used for?
  14. Great news the company that I had purchased 2 quarts of barge from has returned the money paid. When I told them that there was no holding power. I’m guessing that it was a bad batch.
  15. Russia stopped Bidens “winter of death” by destroying 13 bio labs! He hates “the Deep State” and does not was his country to be part of the “new world order” and neither should anyone on the planet! the American Demoncrats have been funding those that gave COVID to the world, Ukraine is a shit pot of criminal activity, it’s the poster child for child sex trafficking and all of you that think Putin is an evil human need to look past the WORLD MEDIA
  16. Nice job, leatherneck! when were ya in? I was 78 to 82
  17. Do not send anything to this guy, just go look at the day he joined, it was just hours ago
  18. Agreed, the rivets you speak of are use for aesthetics not real Holden strength
  19. I have 2 quarts of Barge and it was purchased on Amazon, they won’t take it back (they must know it’s bad). I got my hands on 2 gallons of contact cement and refuse to think I wasted cash, I’ll mix it with kids clothing and see if I catch a politician
  20. If it helps I made a pattern for a Ruger 40 mag and also made a holster for a S&W 357 mag, both are revolvers with 7 7/8 barrels pm me for anything needed
  21. Do not mix dyes in a plastic container with denatured alcohol, the plastic container will not hold up to the chemicals being used to thin the dye - use glass!
  22. I’d like to be considered as one of those members, but my time is limited, I hate Facebook because of censorship
  23. I’ve Done holsters by hand and by machine, I’m able to favor my left and right and working to the left is no problem, but the holster plate was a gift from my daughter. Not using it would be insulting and a waste of money and effort. I’ll get hold of Cowboy Bob, he sold me the machine and I’m sure he’s very knowledgeable about such matters
  24. Hey Rocky, must be nice to get free shhtuff from folks that want you to test it out. I have to order everything and pay premium price to get it. if I had the tools I’d be making parts for my 4500, I’m sure there are folks that have ability but don’t know how to sell the part they make. I’m still trying to figure out how to use the holster plate! I have made holsters by hand and machine and my daughter thought I needed one, at the moment it’s a dust collector.
  25. I’m waiting to hear how you did, I hope it’s all ok on your end
