Western gun belt
Doc Reaper replied to BlackDragon's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Looks effin great! But I have one “duh” question to ask. Did you add a trigger guard spine so the pistol could rest on it??? so many holsters don’t have em because of the extra work or the holster is considered generic -
I’ve been doing this game for a while now, I believe that the reason some lace breaks is because the edge wasn’t beveled and slowly, ever so slowly, cut thru the lace. It’s a good idea for longevity of the item being built to lightly sand the edges to knock the sharpness of the 90° edge. Use like a 200 grit, and 15 seconds and you great grand children will be enjoying it

You should share what you used for the tooling, name brands help those just starting out

Y’all need to start naming the ones selling junk so those that look up to you won’t buy the same crap you purchased, that runs the garbage makers out of business

You Brits can make your own rifles, but build it on the “catch me screw me plan”! Some air rifles are pretty powerful

My first attempt at a crossdraw holster
Doc Reaper replied to Tio's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Grit then follow it with 100, and 260. But don’t dig if you can avoid it. Then do your burnishing thing. But don’t rush it, don’t over think it -
My first attempt at a crossdraw holster

Get a better way to sand your edges so it’s a more fluid sweep then put your thread grove in. I purchased cordless Dremel and various sanding drum sizes (not all at once, it was a slow money thing) get 80 -

Build a better trigger support so it’s less of a basket and provides better hold, kinda like in the picture below but you get the idea, the white cutout is for a rough rider 22 pistol, just make a shelf to fit you derringer trigger guard -

I can justify the need for a cowboy 4500, they see 7/8 of an inch of leather, they are reliable and if you buy a machine make sure you won’t grow out if it. The outlaw to me is impractical, I need both hands to sew and a motorized machine is great! They say buy once cry once

I’m here in North Carolina and when you enter an archery shop all they have available aRe either the recurve bows or the compound bow. It’s been ages since I’ve seen any type of long bow. The picture that sheilajeanne presented kinda resembles the glove I used 50 years ago. The last bow I had required sights and a trigger that wrapped around the wrist. And I would never use my fat Barney Rubble fingers to stitch a glove, how would ya sew inside the fingers

"Bump Jig" definition and source
Doc Reaper replied to Cowboyleatherman's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I didn’t purchase Zee Bee products, it was some guy on Etsy and he was mad because I reported that the jigs weren’t square, his reply was “That Little bit off won’t even show!” He should of offered to send a different set, the set I have is off by enough to see, stay away from Etsy, you will save money -

I paid like $38 and they are not square, spend the money for a good set, and slowly get the accessories but watch the vids and see what you can get without pawning off your first born -
I’m in the USA, and I own a half decent printer that I mainly use to print music tabs or documents that need to be physical. 9 times out of ten I’m trying to print a pattern that calls for A2, and that is so far from the sizing that is called for it’s not worth the time to save it in a folder - WHAT AM I MISSING?? Please explain it to me like I’m 5
