  1. Best bet is to just google image search and see what others are doing... millions of ways to skin that cat...1911 or otherwise...
  2. Ooohhh talent envy..... Very nice box and tools.
  3. I am inspired and I am sure you des3rve very well earned nyah you utter.
  4. Sole leather went for armour I bet! I wouldn't say buy 100 pallets!!! but buy what you can afford and have space for... if it is chrome leather for the uppers it is really most likely you will use for (if not shoes) bags/liners/box covering - maybe book sleeves...vests ?. so if you think you will use it, can afford it, and can store it GO FOR IT. and send pics!!
  5. As had been said... very well done. Can see your lifters up close?
  6. Very neat idea. No more "where are my keys?"
  7. I'm more likely to have the sheath on the belt with one pair of paints and the knife in the pocket of another and am lucky to even remember to wear pants at all... Now... what were we talking about?
  8. Matt has all there is to say so let us know what you do and post a picture! For a non-leather worker option 2 will give you the best results. remember you need to also take 1/4 inch off both sides of the billet (or hole) end of the belt but perhaps that is obvious... one thing to get the buckle to fit on the belt and another to get the belt to fit in the buckle!
  9. You saddle makers blow my mind..... I hope someday I will have time to turn my attention to your world but meantime I love looking at your work. Thanks for posting them.
  10. Thanks folks and for sure on saving pocket wear and tear.. I just mended a few pairs of my office work paints that got worn out by my city EDC. I am now prototyping a pocket sheath/organizer than is working well and ready fro the next generation based on trying it out for a month or so. I have tried carrying the knives in the pocket using the clips but then the rest of the pocket is out of reach unless I want to chew up the back of my hand.
  11. Seems when I can find minutes here and there in the day as I pass the work shop I usually make something I need! I had this S&W for my carry around the farm and finally got to case it so it can go on the belt and not in the pocket... and I guess some of my leather stock has been hanging around to long and I need to oil it before using it and did not on this so it didn't mould smoothly/easily and if it wasn't black I bet it wouldn't have taken the dye evenly either... live and learn.
  12. Nice clean work as usual. If this is just a range belt then I can see the deal with thumb breaks .... I doubt this is for CAS since even with the break off it would impeded draw whereas a thong gets out of the way when off obviously. Sure you have been asked but do you hand more machine stitch? finally... nice brace-o-pistols.
  13. Sorry to here that and I know the feeling for sure... I have my old pals color in my desk drawer... it was before I was making things but still lots of memories.
  14. Are you going rig it to be driven by a drill and socket? if you could do that for the major movement then use a tire iron for the final pressure.... Never thought about using it as a clicker but there you go... I think I will look for a second hand jack now. Nice pictures and step by step as usual and I am looking forward for the molding tests. Curious to see how the 3D printed mold parts work out.
  15. You can hardly notice he is wearing it! when you do see it look cool though.
  16. very nice work. ever consider a matching IWB mag pouch? And I like the hardware story. I have found over time by body has gotten closer to the belt so retention loss over time isn't a concern!
  17. Nice rig and yup he may be back asking for pads in the shoulder straps with all that gun hanging off each side!
