  1. i tend to insert the first needle through the hole but don't pull the thread though very far. insert the second needle, the push it through as you pull the first thread back the way it came. This way you can see if its hung up. do your half hitch and complete.
  2. I meant put a snap on the belt loop.
  3. You could always just put a snap on it.
  4. Yeah that. I also hold the tool so it is just barely touching the groove. I tool about as far as i can comfortably reach, then stop and move. I also have a denim bag about 2" around and 4" long that I set next to the line I'm beveling and rest my hand on that. It gets me up off the work a bit. Seems to make it easier.
  5. Very nice! I've made a few like this and use the same type belt loop.
  6. Nice work!
  7. Welcome! the sky's the limit.
  8. Welcome! Look forward to seeing your work.
  9. Whew! There's the one I was looking for, # 360 is on the table with the finish on it! It actually turned out to be 420. The event coordinator from our restaurant saw them and asked if she could have 60 for a dinner they were hosting. I'm about done with coasters for a bit. BUT, look what followed me home a couple of days ago! An 80lb anvil! I took my electric reel in for service and the saw this sitting outside in the dirt. Asked him if he would part with it and he said yes. He knew I made holsters and asked for a tooled leather case for his iPhone. DONE! It was a lot rougher than it looks now, and I don't think it's a very high quality anvil, but, it rings like a bell and has great rebound. Quite a bit of wire brush and rustoleum and it aint half bad.
  10. No idea, but very interested in what they are worth. Could we get more pics of the other stuff?
  11. I think that might be a bullet loop. I need to figure out the spacing for this type of loop. Not real happy with sewing them on.
  12. Welcome and good luck.
  13. I use Goliger leather in California. You can't order on line so I call and tell them I need another hide. It was explained to me that they buy a and b, grade etc from ho. They don't grade them, ho does. They also told me many other places buy tannery run lots and grade them themselves. Their idea of A grade might vary a great deal from ho.
  14. Very clean. Nice job. I've always wondered why they liked having thr triggers exposed. I know they're single action, but stil...
  15. Welcome from Sequim,Washington. I've often wished the handles would be curved so that when down, the would go down to the body so thread would not get stuck under it. Very nice job!
  16. Thanks guys. Yeah, don't know about the practicality of the thing. Looks like the best use for it would be a paint scaper. The handle seems long and skinny. The blade short and fat. But, Ours is not to wonder why......
