  1. I'm still trying to get the picture resizing thing down. Don't know why I have such a hard time with it. I use heavy 1 inch nylon strap to go around the chest with a click in buckle and adjustment on the right. In back I have a piece of of leather (slider) with 2 slots cut for the nylon across the bottom and another slot angled up to the left shoulder for the shoulder strap to go through. This I adjust to the person and set with Chicago screws. I usually set the slider to the nylon with with a Chicago screw as well to keep it from moving to the left and causing the strap to loosen. I have done close to a dozen of these so far. Hikers, backpackers, horse back riders, all like them because a pancake or other holsters get in the way. I just finished one for a S&W 686 in 357 mag 7 shot with a 4 inch barrel I want to get the pics up for.
  2. Great job! I took the plunge and bought a cobra class 3. What difference it makes. Could you put the bling on a separate piece of leather and sew it on. Might not hurt the structural (?) stitching that way.
  3. I finally got around to ordering a maker's mark stamp for Rainshadow Crafters, this is the name the wife and put on our work. I do leather and she makes handbags etc for ladies. I got it from leatherstampmaker.com and it is great. The detail on these are unbelievable. I showed it to the pro at the golf course I work at (I'm retired and literally work for free golf) and he asked about doing leather ball markers. I got back with leatherstampmaker.com and had a logo stamp made the size of a poker chip. He approved and off I went. He showed it to an affiliated club and now I do them for both. They are the same size so the one die cutter works for both. I also do card wallets and yardage book wallets with the logo on them.
  4. Thanks, I'd like to see how yours comes out.

That is a serious project! And done very well too!
  6. This is a chest rig I made for a friend of mine that does a lot of hiking. I made him a pancake holster for it using JLS 's method, but it doesn't work with a backpack. I took the same pattern I developed and changed it to have tabs for the connection points. He loves it and uses it often.
  7. Just finished a note pad cover. Trying to find a happy medium on sewing with the cobra class 3
  8. I've been around the site for a while but recently settled down and intend to get a bit more serious about my leatherwork. After getting over the travel bug after retiring, we settled here in Sequim and love it. Hope to post more and learn a lot from you folks..
  9. I have a chance to buy an Adler 205-8. It says can sew up to 1 inch of leather. I am having a hard time finding any real data on this machine. Anybody know anything about these units? Thanks
