  1. The CB0797 is a great machine BUT it isn't one I like to sell for finished leather products because it has feed dogs on it that can mark the bottomside of your leather. The CB3200 as stated will use a thicker thread & is made for sewing leather since it has a smooth feed dog so you don't have to worry about scratching or marking the leather.
  2. Yes,we always use & stock the #240558 because it has a better hook guard on it(thicker steel)
  3. The hook parts will be the same as a newer style 111w,some other parts like for the walking feet are no longer available for this model. Here's a list for the hook partshttp://parts.singerco.com/IPpartCharts/111W152.pdf
  4. Being a Consew dealer myself I want to let you know they only sell parts to their dealers. When they get calls from someone they'll let you know the closest one to you.
  5. The Singer 18 is good for thin leather to 1/4" maybe 5/16 & only has a bottom feed that can leave marks.
  6. Sometimes you get what you pay for,we have ordered cheap parts like feet & in a few months time when we went to use them they were corroded, didn't fit properly or so brittle they broke when you tightened the foot.
  7. If you want them sooner we do have all 4 parts in stock for $68.50 + 6.80 priority mail.
  8. I bought some polyester thread 10 yrs ago that was wrapped in plastic & in a box & it was dated 1987 & we still have a few spools left & it is still strong thread.Nylon thread seems to loose its strength as it gets older. We had some that we've had to throw away that was 12 yrs old,but different manufactures & this could of been in a window .
  9. No,you want the belt to have about 1" of play,if it slips it's too loose & will wear it out quickly.
  10. For it to work you need to make sure that both feet are lifting them same as they walk, you can loosen the clamp on the back to make adjustments as needed. You also have the sliding lift adjustment where you can loosen the nut & slide it up for more lift. But you do need to check & make sure first that they both lift the same as they walk.
  11. You could try to loosen the belt alittle that frees up some power @ low speeds.
  12. I have seen this happen too & do not have an answer for it either.I can only guess it was defective from the factory maybe too much bonding makes it stick.I have bought machines & they throw in thread & end up with some like this & have just used this type of thread for the bobbin just to prevent from throwing it away.
  13. The 78-1 is like a 31-15 only it's a needle feed only. It's a good machine until you need certain parts like feed parts, or feet which have been discontinued. We do have the standard feet in stock along with a welt foot.It was made for sewing leather coats, canvas & upholstery.
  14. Nice find,I wish the old ones I find had such nice decals on them./
  15. Yes,I sure would like to see some pics of what you made.
  16. Yes,we need to upgrade our website, the current machines will use #346 thread. We had problems years ago with the first ones using it.
  17. Yes,your folks just left maybe 10 min ago.Just give us a call anytime during the day if you have any questions. Thanks,Bob
  18. The flatbed machines just sit in the table,so the best way to ever haul or move a machine is to take it out of the stand(Tilt it back undo the belt set it back down & it lifts out),then if you have a table w/a servo motor it only weighs around 110 Lbs & 2 people can handle it easy & the head ways around 70 Lbs.
  19. It is a Singer 7 class,it should have an oval plate with the model# on it on the other side. There is much better machine to get nowdays than this.It has a hopping foot & lower feed dogs in it that will leave marks on your leather.Parts are getting hard to find for it over on this side of the pond too! I don't know if you can any over there or not.
  20. Save your $$ for needles & thread,here's a manual for the auto-lube machine. http://www.consew.com/Files/112347/InstructionManuals/P1206RB.pdf
  21. The parts might fit if it truly is a 563 because you CAN put the small hook in a large bobbin machine(as long as it already had one in it),it isn't the best thing to do because I think you have a gap above the upper bearing in the hook saddle,so maybe they knew all along it had a small hook in it & know the larger one will drop in.
