  1. Don't forget to loosen the 2-screws on the collar on the inside & like the others have said u just might need a bigger hammer!
  2. there is a Juki DLU 450-4 w/a a top feed foot, the outside foot pulls back with the lower feed dog.It is good for thin leather 2-6oz total #46 or 69 thread. The foot is kinda wide for a lot of things too. Here's a pic of one we have.
  3. On any machne when it is looping on the bottom either your thread isn't threaded correctly OR the upper thread tension is too loose. It sounds like maybe it's too tight right now because you say when it goes all the way in the tension it breaks. That is where it IS supposed to be all the way in it.So maybe loosen it one turn, pull it all the way in & see what happens. See attached threading chart.
  4. You have to be careful some of these have a cloth timing belt that has been discontinued,it can be replaced with the newer rubber style BUT it'll cost close around $200.00 for the new belt pulleys & belt, labor is expensive too since the top shaft needs to be pulled out.
  5. I can't get it to cut & paste into this reply?? ,But if you go to consew.com & go to resources & go down to model #757R it is the same machine as yours. HTH Bob
  6. Try pushing the feed dog front to back to check for play if so,try to find the source.
  7. Hey Colt, keep up the great looking work there!!
  8. It could be some loose parts in the stitch length mechanism. When they are working & adjusted properly they are a very good & dependable machine. If someone has been playing with it & some of the adjustments are off THEN you'll call it a piece of junk.
  9. You need the 563,the 105 is for sewing lightweight stuff like drapes, shirts, dresses.
  10. Yes,but we can modify it for the 3200. Also when you use the slotted plate the stitch length will be shorter in reverse do to the missing feed dog.
  11. The needle plate from the larger machines can be made to fit on the 3200 by elongating the back screw hole(it's off about 1/2 of the hole)
  12. Guys, you have to remember what your dealing with here. The 3200 & 3500,4500 are all made for thicker leather using thicker thread, there is no one machine that does it all & does a good job w/o some effort on your part. The easiest way is make a wider seam(It would be a lot cheaper than throwing away a project)it's just a 1/4"or so material that you cut off when your done & burnish the edge after. Also if your doing alot of this lighter weight sewing a smaller machine might give more consistent results. I see some tempers flairing & I don't want to argue with anyone so please cooloff,we try to ask people before they buy one what all they plan on sewing & I always like to say these are bigger machines & they will sew lighter material but it's like driving a dumptruck to the grocery store you can do it but it won't work the best. Don't forget either that a smaller machine won't use the heavier thread & sew as thick as these either .It's the nature of the beast!!
  13. The leather must be soft enough that the tension of the bobbin thread is pulling it down when the feed dog is lowered & going forward. This is what the slotted plate is for thin & soft leather. You will need to take the feed dog of when you want to use it.
  14. Try a #22 needle,20 is too small. You also might need to tighten the foot pressure down more, this is the knob on the leftside on top of the machine.
  15. Good Luck & see you soon in Texas! Maybe we can arm wrestle!
  16. Try taking the bobbin out(so the thread is out of the way)unthread the needle too,put some oil all the way around the outer part of the bobbin case & it might loosen up w/o having to take it apart. You might need to take the belt off so you can rock the handwheel back & forth. When you first started did you hold onto the needle thread to get the bobbin thread through the feed dog ?
  17. This type of bobbin case works better when your using heavier thread, you might want to try it for a while before you change it.(If it ain't broke don't fix it?)
  18. Most of these 29-4 will give you problems trying to sew the 138,the next size smaller #92 works better & you use a #20 needle.
  19. A larger pulley on the motor will make it run faster.A new motor should be no more than $150.00,unless he had them put it on & they charged him a lot for labor,it takes 15min to install one. They are a good machine for upholstery, feet, needles & etc are easy to get also. Make sure to try & see it sew before you buy it,The price is in the ballpark.
  20. To my knowledge they old styles were all hammertone gray, just the new (441) styles were white. You can cut & paste that ad into your reply so we can see the pic.
  21. You can try pushing the needlebar rock frame front to back & look @ this part behind & towards the bottom. It is screwed in & sometimes loosens up.You will have to take the needlebar rock frame out to get to it.
