  1. Cruising through forums I haven’t paid much attention to here tonight and ran across this. These cups are really great, @spacedog! Got any more to share?
  2. Just going to chime in here to say that posts like this from @zuludog are what make this community so great. Welcome aboard, @Jimbojay! Dive in and show us your progress as you experiment and learn.
  3. Cool! Is the car yours, or are you doing it for someone else?
  4. @fredk I’d love to see a pic of that. I’ve been swivel-beveling for a while now per @immiketoo but my hand gets awfully sore running the regular beveler tool along.
  5. Welcome @MnMan! There are definitely a lot of great resources and helpful folks here. Post some of your projects over in the show off and critique forums, new folks are always welcome.
  6. Ok maybe I’m being dense but I don’t see anything there that needs to be a particular way up? Looks great to me, I like the way your dye job turned out.
  7. Hey @Brianmd, what dimensions are you looking for? Better question, what’s the minimum size that is useful to you? I did a quick google search but I’m still not entirely sure what you’re making. Basically just a longish piece of leather lace? Some more info might help out here.
  8. Looks to me as though you could do that with just a small L of similar thickness to your basket weave edges. Stamp the basket weave, extend a guide line and stamp the corner, then connect them carefully with a modeling spoon. I’d say the whole thing could be done with a modeling spoon but it would be hard to get the corners so nice and crisp.
  9. I swung by my local store here in Tacoma Wa, it’s closed up but still appears to be fully stocked for now.
  10. Clever, @wizcam! Thanks for sharing the patterns and the pics.
  11. These are really cool guys, thanks for sharing! One question though, does the board lay flat enough to easily play when it’s been stored rolled up for a while?
  12. Nice job, Ferg. Interesting observation regarding the ages of the mask wearers. Here in the Seattle area I’ve noticed the exact opposite trend: mostly young people (still including myself in that category at 40, some days at least!) wearing them and mostly older folks without them.
  13. That’s cool, I’ll bet he likes it. Is the design reverse beveled? The photo is playing tricks on my eyes.
  14. Excellent work, as always. I like the way your floral design subtly overlaps its boundaries, really makes it pop nicely.
  15. @Atlr9640, make another attempt and post a pic of the results. Much easier to give advice if we all can see what’s going on with your process.
  16. Hmm. Reading this thread makes me think I need to spend some time with my awls and my sharpening stones. Good quarantine project, I suppose!
  17. Great to hear! Looking forward to seeing you post your results over in Show Off / Critique My Work.
  18. The mystery braid looks great on those and suits the style nicely, I bet they’ll sell fine. I like the marbled look on a couple of those coin purses, what’s that leather?
  19. I think we all think this about ourselves, except for a handful of speed demons who probably think they’re around average! Either way, the belt looks great, thanks for sharing.
  20. Excellent briefcase! Thanks for posting all the pics. Your stitching around the lock looks sharp and I like the selfie there too.
  21. Hey @TonySFLDLTHR, care to chime in on the pic above? Definitely not what I’d have expected to receive either.
  22. I made the mistake of trying resolene at full strength at first, it left rag/brush marks I was never able to get rid of. Way easier to work with when cut down. Save a few old medicine bottles, they’re great for storing your diluted liquids (most dyes can be extensively cut as well).
  23. Just chiming in to say that I also would suggest spray adhesive - but still used sparingly! It’s awful when applied too heavily, I’ve learned that lesson from experience.
