  1. not sure these will match your machine...but here are the links anyway, the welting foot did not have a smooth bottom foot... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078GGSLYK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/FIT-FOR-ADLER-67-68-167-267CL-2-TOE-WELT-FOOT-SET-1-4-S67-1-4-1SET/152427460804?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  2. i got mine on amazon, i accidentally bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004RAO2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 first before measuring the shaft...turns out i needed this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00498DVWI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1to work with the bushing that goes on the motor shaft...the 1.5" was just a hair too wobbly with out it and the 3/4" with the bushing fit perfect...the servo on my adler is the fesm-550sm. With the smaller pulley and servo turned to where it'll still punch through I can creep along, also remember if you buy the smaller pulley to check belt size...I had to go down 2" in v-belt, unless you have enough adjustment to make up the slack. I haven't looked at a bigger handwheel pulley yet, the adler is not easy to find parts for and i haven't tried removing the existing handwheel to see what it would take, but honestly with the pulley/belt change it's working great.
  3. funny, same scenario here....buddy was out squirrel hunting and came across one and nearly stepped on it... it's skinned and stretched, wasn't sure what to tell him to do besides that...never did find out if he got any squirrel...lol. He's hoping i can use it for some inlay on a belt and wallet for his boy for Christmas.
  4. Awesome, didn't know this existed...of course never felt the need to search for it before now either....lol.
  5. Never mind on my previous post lol, I thought it looked like Cameron Diaz, and it truly does
  6. that is jaw dropping, breath takingly awesome! I can barely draw a stuck figure let alone draw it on leather and then make it 3d...I would love to see a picture of the inspiration if you have it to compare...
  7. I saw something like this on reddit the other day and wondered if it was woven or stamped (couldn't enlarge my phone on reddit pic) thanks for the tutorial and sharing! These look awesome, but definitely a labor of love...lol
  8. Thanks Tony for correcting that, I wasn't positive but i understood the main point being get'm now before they're gone ;-)
  9. I believe the sale price is the normal price as is now, once the rates go up for them so will the consumer price...
  10. Sorry, haven't made one, may have to bite the bullet and just draw it out or modify a rifle sling/guitar strap to suit...
  11. Wichita falls boot & saddle maker trade show here ya go...
  12. Good to know, this post is from 2011...but if @Knipper is there with a table of knives this year i'll have to think about making a drive over...
  13. Sure, I haven't moved any of them yet, but didn't get to make my trip down south yet either... I have them strung on a strong piece of lace to hang from a hook right now. Sucks when i need to get 1 out...lol
  14. you know you're always welcome to store things here...lol, not that i'm in any better shape on the storage front. It's hard having a wife & husband that both have similar space requirements for hobbies...The adler has been fondly adopted into the "sewing room" and the wife enjoys using it, she actually just started using the cowboy helping me out with some binding...she's been a seamstress since she was old enough to sit on her mother's lap and get a needle jabbed through her finger so her expertise really helps on some things. Here she is making quick work of the binding...video still processing so may take a while to be viewable.
  15. please do...I got a link from uwe, but it's for direct shipping from kunpeng...I found a small walking foot set from them on amazon, but no luck finding a distributor for the binding feet/binder
  16. This is hard to answer...each project has it's own application. As a general rule, use the guide that comes with the cowboy manual and go from there, for me... multiple layers of garment leather/bag leather etc...the round point needle with 207 thread works well top and bottom 2 layers of 10/12 oz latigo/harness...I don't have a comparison...unless you count 2 layers of 8/9oz veg tan...in that case i use the diamond point leather needle and since i'm using it for holsters #277 thread top and bottom, maybe #346 top and #277 bottom if you want a fatter looking stitch but no real gain in strength garment ~3oz --i use my adler as the cowboy can get pretty rough with this, i have done a wallet or two with the slotted needle plate, a #23 needle and 207 thread no trials yet for ?laisn=lambskin? best advice i can give is match the thread size to the application, then match the needle size to the thread and needle type to the material...and ALWAYS unless you've tested it yourself, test test test on a scrap piece similar to your application BEFORE sticking your project on the needle plate. if you plan to use the roller guide mock up your scrap to do so, i've had stuff slip right under that dang roller and leave an ugly zig zag, or hit a seam with the walking foot that presses the material right or left and do some damage. It's a learning experience everytime i sit down at the machine, same for the adler or any other machine, but I have learned to approach with caution and the measure twice cut once mentality.
  17. You're correct, what you can do is burn up a good motor. To control the speed on an ac induction motor you have to adjust/change the frequency and it needs to be a 3 phase motor paired with a vfd, then your potentiometer will work, but seems like that would end up costing more in the long run.
  18. my bad, was trying to hurry when i copied the link earlier and didn't see that... here you go http://ismacs.net/needle_and_shank/needle-cross-reference-chart-round-shank.html
  19. http://ismacs.net/needle_and_shank/needle-cross-reference-chart-flat-shank.html
  20. Now i'm jealous...lol, my 78-1 turned out to have a bent oscillator shaft...I picked up an adler 67 since then and have been using that with the servo, but the 78-1 really needs a home...lol
  21. your best bet for proper fit is if you have the gun lay it out on the pattern for the glock and see how it lines up...or if you want to be 100% sure pick up a pattern from @JLSleather on his etsy store...
  22. permanent bond spray adhesive...check the local auto parts or amazon? Honestly though, if I'm gluing up something that i want to last I still only trust contact cement on both layers, but some of the 3M and associated spray adhesives work well depending on use. I used this for a custom made portfolio to attach the backer to the foam before stitching around the rolled edges...https://imgur.com/a/XHor9kx
