I bought a cowboy 3200 from Alexander at Solar in Arlington, Tx. He gave me about an hour of hands on instruction when I picked up the machine. Super good people and a great machine! Good luck with your endeavor! Rodney

I have some doubts about stamps or craftool
Rhale replied to D2G's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I collect stamping tools, about 800 to date, the older craftool that just say craftool co. And a # without a letter in front of the # are the best ones under the craftool name, then comes the ones stamped the same except there is # and letter. You will also find some withou # or letter. Most all of these are good stamps, they are earlier stamps made in USA. After that they are stamped craftool co. USA, these are as a whole good stamps also. In 1999 all there stamps were being imported and from then to date you are not getting the quality they use to be. If you want good quality stamps get the USA made ones or better yet buy Barry King, Robert Beard, Hackbarth, Clay Miller and a few other custom made stamps! They are more money but the difference in the quality and crispness of the stamps are undeniable. Hope this helps! Rodney -

Techniques for finishing edges quickly
Rhale replied to Jason046's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
You can use either to burnish then dye edges or dye the burnish, I usually dye the burnish but either way will work, try both and see what works best for you! -
Techniques for finishing edges quickly
Rhale replied to Jason046's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Ron’s edge rub is very quick and easy to use but is a bit expensive. I also like quick slick from Barry King it does a good job and not as expensive, may take a little more burnishing! -

Customer doesn’t want a maker’s mark
Rhale replied to Cleatherdesigns's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I think there are a few pieces that there just isn’t a good place to put a Maker’s mark but most anything else I make gets a Maker’s mark! It’s just like anything else you buy, it’s going to have a brand, a label, or identifying mark no mater what the item is big or small. Granted I don’t do this for I living but I have made and sold I lot of leather work in 50 plus years of making and building leather goods, if you don’t want my Maker’s mark on something I make then you can get it elsewhere! Just my policy right or wrong! Thanks Rodney -
3.85 crimson hide pricking irons still available? If so what is you best price shipped to Texas? Thanks Rodney
