  1. I use Barge, but Masters is also very good!
  2. Check with Panhandle Leather, Amarillo, Tx. I buy most of my leather there, good people, reasonable prices and shipping!
  3. I prefer to line all my belts for men, usually don’t with women or kids unless requested! If you are doing them for sale you have to charge more for lining if sewing by machine or by hand. I don’t believe I would sew many by hand but I usually sew about all my belts lined or not. If you are going to make belts for sale you will probably want to invest in a machine of some type.
  4. Wow! I enjoy doing oak leaves but not that small or that many! It looks GREAT!
  5. I really like it! May have to try one.
  6. Do the border last, it will cover the pieces of the basket stamp that are close to the border.
  7. What talent at a young age, I bet next year will be 1st place! Congratulations that is a beautiful saddle. Rodney
  8. Check out Dave Swallow tool racks, a little on the pricey side but very nice ! I have one that holds 296 tools and I love it. I believe you can find them under Swallow leather tools. Rodney
  9. You should be able to get all of that from a United States tannery, Wickett and Craig!
  10. If that is your very first you are off to a heck of a start, keep practicing and don’t get disgusted everything will fall into place! You have just started a life long hobby. Enjoy, Rodney
  11. I think I will pass but thanks anyway! Rodney
  12. How much for 3 brown oil tanned, I understand shipping is extra? This is my 2nd request! Thanks Rodney
  13. I would be interested in the Barry King stamps, what will you take for them shipped to Texas? Thanks Rodney
  14. I believe also that Tandy is trying to improve and become better in the leather business, some now have Cobra machines on display to try and you can order from Tandy, one of their reps told me they were looking into trying to get Herman Oak leather. Tandy started as a beginners leather supply and seems to have never got away from that, hopefully they will change there ways in the near future if for nothing else the stores are in a lot of medium sized cities so one can usually get to one without to far of a drive. As far as teaching younger beginners, I enjoy showing anyone that is interested in fact I have done several tooling classes at a Tandys free of charge, I don’t charge anyone and don’t get paid to do it , I believe leathercraft can be a life long hobby as I have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed it for close to 60 years.
  15. I would have them order and pay for the custom stamp, it’s there stamp not yours then you use it as necessary. Also that way it won’t be your fault if it’s not exactly the imprint they want! Just my way of doing it, I am sure there are a lot more ideas on this.
  16. Congrats on the new career move, I am about 300 miles from San Angelo but like the people and country in that area, I live about 85 miles NE of Amarillo out kind of in the middle of no where, we have 900 sq miles in the county and about 700 people. way more cows then people!
