  1. Excellent work. I wouldn't want that color but you have to please your customer.
  2. Very nice. I have been wearing one with that pattern I made over 20 years ago. The tongue end edge burnishing became so frayed I just re-burnished it a couple of weeks ago. I used Herman's oak leather and except for the frayed from use thing it still looked about as good as it did when I finished it.
  3. Nice looking rig. What's the total weight?
  4. Nice work. I've always preferred ranger style belts. More work to make one but worth it.
  5. What I think is I would hate to have to wear all that around. Nice work though.
  6. I've been a member for a long time but it's been quite sometime since I visited this forum. I decided to come back although I haven't done anything involving leather for a least two years. Tremors have severly messed up my ability to draw and control a swivel knife even with medication. I still like to see other people's efforts though so I decided to come back to do so. Do I get to critique work although I've about given up on doing any?
  7. I would work on making my background stamping smoother and also your edges. While at it deeper tooling will make you design pop out. I have never used edge dressing. No problem with those that do but I prefer to just get a really good, smooth, burnished edge.
  8. I'm not interested in stamps but like the swivel knives although I didn't see anything about them on your etsy link. Ordering options?
  9. I use a bandaid on each little finger and on thick stuff an ordinary pair of pliers to pull the needle.
  10. Different for sure. I like it.
  11. Great work. I admire you guys that can do stamp work. I've always done floral carving and doubt I could do stamping.
  12. Katsass said everything I could and probably better than I. +1 on the Al Stholman book. If you need an answer for something concerning leather work Al has a book about it.
  13. Doin' good. I haven't made a holster in a year and a half. Guess I need to go buy another gun to have an excuse.
  14. The second example is better than the first. Get a copy of Al Stholman's "How To Carve Leather" book. It will tell you everything you need to know to do beautiful work. It's available from S&D Trading Co., Tandy's, and Amazon.
  15. Good job. That is my favorite belt pattern and I have made several over the years. My son is wearing the last one I made.
  16. Bee-u-tee-ful. Love Stholman's work. Guy knew what he was doing. Floral carving is what I like and do. Everything else is just stamping. I've seen some very nice stamped leatherwork. Just something I'm not interested in doing.
  17. Hey, that;s cute, both the gun and the rigs.
  18. Nice looking holster. I couldn't do basketweave on a bet. Never really cared for it so I never put any effor forth to learn how.
  19. Excellent work. I really like the jock strap holster.
  20. You must be retired. I am and understand the need to be busy. My current "something to piddle with" project is making 1911 grips. Some carved, some with inlays, and some just plain. Got a couple of "for me" leatherwork projects planned just as soon as I finish a gunstock I'm building and clean up the huge mess I've created with that. Right after I finish the current set of grips I put aside for the gunstock that is.
  21. Great work. If I were choosing I would go with the oxblood one. Nothing wrong with the oxblood and black but I just prefer solid color holsters. I used to own a pair of cowboy boots with oxblood bottom and black tops. Boy, I though they were pretty and loved them but that's boots and not holsters.
