beautiful work indeed, i am also making collars for three American bully pups, mine, lol. the first tries have already been ruined by them seems they can pull real hard lol. One snapped the d ring the other snapped the latch on the leash. They are only five months old. make sure you have a welded d ring.

what i found also It does resemble regular leather lace as it is woven flat and appears to be about the same thickness and width of leather lacing.

how old is your pattern/ instructions many times things have been renamed over the course of time. or maybe scan the instructions so we can see how the word is used, it may help us to understand what you are attempting to make.

The first real shop tool, for wood, I ever owned bought it for 100 bucks about 10 year ago. I love that thing it is an animal compared to modern junk. Most of my wood work had been by hand tools also. Your pony looks great!!

Here are a couple of my earlier projects. The small knife was the earliest attempt for both making knives and sheaths. The first was made from some unknown leather my dad had laying around. The second sheath was made from some W&C i bought, you can still see the fingernail marks from me on the back side, as well the stamping was done years later when the sheath was dry, yea i just hit real hard, and i discovered stamping tools lol. Its about 25 years old. But in my defense i was into muzzle-loading back then so most of my stuff was made by a " lonely trapper during the winter with no tools under the flame of a candle" lol. i think the best way to improve is to be consistent with you practice while still reading and learning the various aspects of the craft. Strive to do some projects above you skill level while still doing projects at your skill level.

I store the stuff I don't use everyday or very much in totes or in a different room. like your pistols. I'll bet you only use one at a time and some are less used than others. looks like that alone would give you a third of your wall back.

great looking rig indeed I like that minimal stamping but adds great effect.

A mug or vase, pencil holder or just a wall hanging like those smile/ frown ceramic mask sets back in the day. Vary cool piece of art. or paint and sell for the day of the dead celebration folks.

i cant find the link to the pdf book i have but if you google Sioux moccasin pattern you will get what you need. it has hidden stitching all around. Its amazing the different styles and patterns Indians used some are so easy and end up really nice. look into some of the other moc patterns. Souix patterns are really nice! and dont have that bunched up look. I have a file but its to big to attach, i'll try to find a link or pattern for you.

I use the acrylic artist paints when i need colors not sold . The transparent colors resemble dyed and can be mixed to create your own Hue. i water them down and use washes to get the effect i want. Never tried to make my own dye except for vinegaroon which turns the leather black.

What i see is that your lacing setup tightens the leather around the gun making it to tight to pull. I would sew it so the lacing tightens the inner without tightening the outer holster. Kinda hard to explain but basically the holster needs to be attached but separate from the piece that tightens. KInda like a belt holster combo but smaller. AND>>> I just what what Dwight said and his explanation is much better than mine. So never mind lol.
