  1. i'm sorry it just hit me as funny, but ya gotta wonder what the person was doing when that crossed their minds to try lol. I tried some once but didn't like the taste .........ruined a perfectly good peanut butter sammich lol. But i would try it too if i had any.
  2. i about shot beer out my nose on that one!!
  3. Sweeeet! I tried super shene yesterday only because i was doing a quick sheath out of scraps just doused the thing then thought why not try burnishing while its still damp. And it worked well also. cool indeed i have been wanting to try making some hide glue now i have a reason.
  4. the gut is doin good thanks I get some coffee now and some spicy lol. Man that is a good price about 5$ a pound. I would love that my fire pit is about 2 foot deep in snow lol. But summers coming it was finally above 0 f yesterday for the last week we have been minus, all the roads were closed off and on, our stores ran out of fresh produce and milk and such. My wife bought about ten lbs of beef tallow, we use it to cook, flavor and add fat to our wild meat. the fat flavor is the best part of beef. Save it for your roo burgers!!
  5. wow that is really cool.
  6. i use weldwood its good stuff and in most hardware stores.
  7. or you can line it completely and just use a card slot for the check book backing to fit in. But my point is the leather at the fold has to be the same thickness all the way across the item or it will do weird stuff.
  8. nice, That'll hold your britches up! i like the blue thread!!

  10. then if you want a really nice fold skive it.
  11. take out the "reinforcement", problem solved. All the patterns for check books i have use two pieces inside for the pockets not one with a slot in it. your overthinking things to much.
  12. then i cant help you much i can do this stitch with mine..
  13. they make lacing chisels. https://tandyleather.com/products/pro-line-lacing-chisels-532?_pos=1&_sid=7f29206c3&_ss=r
  14. i quickly looked at one of the patterns i have 2 -2 1/2 oz inside and 4 oz on the outside is called for in it. I think you could get by with 5 oz on the outside if you want. oh and it calls for two separate pieces inside for the pockets so no reinforcement along the edge.
  15. wowzers!! i love your use of the stamp there!! Amazing texture on that.
  16. very cool I like the look of the one with the weave on both sides.
  17. i use both while working on projects mm's are much easier to figure than fractions but then if you use older patterns and most American made instruction books they are in inches so you have to adapt a bit to get something built. Its just the world we live in today lol.
  18. considering that is the side of the holder and if you carry the holder in your right hand the picture of the flag will be facing the correct direction the way it is now. star field to the forward
  19. man that looks really nice!!! The direction of the flag in the picture is ok. the field of stars is always towards the pole when hung outside or carried or if on an arm patch the field will be to the front of the person. We wore our flag patch on the right arm so the field was on the right facing forward when looking at it. when it is hung on a wall you are correct in its positioning.
  20. Another thing some chisels are measured tip to tip in mms while some others the gap between tines is measured in mms
