    Glad I could help. I use it for tying plastic CAUTION tape around our job sites, the square knot will pull loose in the wind.

    That is the total opposite of what Al Stohlman and the old guys that taught me in the saddle shop. BOTH needles go through at the same time, eliminating the possibility of piercing the threads.

    Glue LARGE pieces of the two leathers and cut BOTH pieces as one.

    I have done numerous projects that I doubt I could duplicate. That's what makes them all special. Bianchi and others turn out cookie cutter products, not my thing.

    I don't consider either fowl or fish to be meat. Flesh perhaps, but not meat.

    600/800 wet or dry sandpaper wrapped around a popsicle stick. Might go as fine as 1200. Crocus cloth will give it a nice polish.

    Then I can think of no reason that you would have to pound it as you described. Unless the tool is THAT dull.

    It is nothing that I do, or would do.

    I do not sand the flesh side but if I am gluing anything to the grain side I sand or otherwise 'rough' it up. To give the adhesive more to bond to. There should be enough 'roughness' on the flesh side.

    I don't know what awl you have, but none of mine make a hole that size. 3/32 is a HUGE hole.

    A THONGING chisel will make holes that are far too large. A thonging chisel and a stitching chisel are two different critters.
