    I can't help with the history of the tools. I'd say it's priceless though. A piece of family history and heritage. Something to keep in the family and carry it forward ! Well done

    You will need to account for the thickness of leather for your folded over parts and allow for a stitch allowance. I would figure out what I wanted in the roll and do a practice fit by laying it down on theater leather and folding over the bottom piece.

    I think a good striking surface should also be added to the above good advise. Appropriately cased leather won't mean a lot if your Stamps are bouncing all over the place
