  1. I've had this happen to me twice now. Buyer orders item, needs to provide info on style/size, never answers e-mails/convos. Both times, it was a Western Hatband, requiring hat circumference and tooling style choice. I finally refunded the first one. This one I have sent messages to the buyer, (already paid!), requesting the info so I can get started on the hatband. No replies, no complaints that it hasn't been shipped, nuthin'. The buyer this time, has been a member of Etsy since 2016, but has no favorite shops, no favorites on items, no purchases. Nothing except this order since 2016. Weird. I've been sitting back and waiting to see if they ever even show that they ordered something that never arrived. I don't like this tack, since it shows as way overdue on my delivery time. I'd suspect a scam, except that I've been paid!!! Anyone else seen this? Jeff
  2. Bikermutt, I looked for the lapping film at Taylor Tools, not there, it's at Taylor Toolworks, www.taytools.com. Can't wait to get some film! What grit do you recommend? Jeff
  3. Nice. Wish I had room for one of those. Jeff
  4. Sheilajeanne, I'm your Huckleberry! (Sorry, movie reference). I'll take the lot for 80 US, plus shipping and anything else you think is fair. I'm sure will be some duplicates, but I can handle that. Shipping to 80525 zip code, Fort Collins, Colorado. Jeff I'll PM you with info.
  5. Well, darn it! I was going to say shrimp de-veiner. But I guess those are curved. Way to go, Harry!
  6. Rocko, there's a broken pic link just above the pic of the pouches, I clicked on that and there is a pic of a combo hatchet/knife sheath/scabbard. Worked for me anyway. Jeff
  7. I'm about 40 minutes from "Western Boulder, Colorado", but I've never seen one of those. Nice idea, though, I might make one. You might try searching under the name "scabbard" as well as "sheath". Or any combination of those, referring to Knife and Hatchet or Ax. Jeff
  8. Jazzbass, I figured that out recently, (yesterday) when I tried Fiebings edge paint applicator. It was a paint, not a dye, and when it foamed during application, it flowed over some contrasting stitching. Well, that became a black belt with black stitching, that started out as a black belt with light tan stitching, when I had to make another one for the client. Hey, now I have a black/black stitched belt I didn't know I needed. Jeff
  9. "What's your favorite tool?" That's easy, the next one! Jeff
  10. I haven't tried to glue anything to cxl yet, how do you think it will last? Horween advertises some "glue-able" leathers, but I would think with all the waxes and oils and such, it might not hold well. Edges do look good, though. Jeff

Right! And, I wouldn't have said that to Yosemite Sam, either!

Very nice! Wonder about the case still on the bullets in the second one... I really liked that tank bib, too.
  13. I do rub some beeswax on my cxl belts, and burnish it in. That softens the wax a bit for better penetration. It doesn't "burnish" as we usually mean it, but it does seal it a bit and improves the look. I wouldn't use a paint, and not just for adhesion issues, but because cxl stretches, and I imagine that would be an issue, especially over the length of a belt. The Natural cxl looks fine without an edge burnish, but the brown I just started using has a much lighter edge than the front surface, so the wax burnish darkens it a bit. Jeff
  14. I fight that same battle every day. You give them seven ways to accurately size a belt, over two or three emails, and they come back with something totally off the wall. I really do try to make it simple, but the the ability to reason and follow simple directions escapes many people. Jeff
  15. You SAY you shun the camera's eye, but then I look at your avatar! Oh, wait, maybe that's a drawing. I see. My sister-in-lay in Chicagoland just told me she's lost 14lbs since the first of the year, so now that she's shamed me, I have to get busy too. Need to lose 22lbs to get back to where I was a year ago. It's retirement, I'm telling you, it's not my fault. Jeff
  16. Ohio Travel Bag would be a likely place. What you're looking for is a long rectangular grommet, essentially. I've never used one, but imagine it would indeed require a setter. I just checked, Ohio Travel Bag does have them. Search for eyelets and grommets. Jeff
  17. If only we could convince Russia that Ukraine isn't Russia.
  18. The secret is to have a white paper of whatever, and gradually bend it up in the back. No folds, creases, or other artifacts.
  19. I had to look up Jaffa Cakes. Looks yummy! I'd set aside some space if it was my shop!
