Singer 111W155 Arm Shaft Bushing Will Not Come Out
CowboyBob replied to tammythefactory's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Constabulary, that's a good idea too!! I forgot & I just had a guy in last week that did that very same thing to his machine. He just bought one of those screws a few weeks before & I told him he didn't need it & he thought well if the factory put it there it should be on the machine. So he puts it on & then overtightens it & when he brought it in after working on the machine for a month he wanted us to fix it.I loosened while he was still here & loosened it up.- 23 replies

The gear reducer servo is no longer being made & yes they were more $$ than the FS-550 we now sell,so all we have is the FS-550 which will need a speed reducer($135.00) to run the 205 @ a slow enough speed & have enough power.

Maybe the bearing by the handwheel is bad? Slide it off alittle & see how it spins.- 23 replies

Sometimes pieces of the old belt & I've even seen a few teeth from the belt in the groove on the pulleys,so you might want to slide the bellt off & check. You can scrape it out w/a screwdriver.- 23 replies

Piece Of Thread Stuck In Rotating Hook Consew 206 Look Alike
CowboyBob replied to kwalk20's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I should of mentioned that if you keep sewing with them big loops like that you'll probably end up jamming it up again.Don't forget to hold the needle thread the first 3 stitches when you start sewing. -
You can make a pin out of a nail,it needs to be 57mm long. You can bend the bracket on the back of the tension unit to adjust it.

Piece Of Thread Stuck In Rotating Hook Consew 206 Look Alike

Make sure your top thread is threaded correctly,(pulled down in between the discs) or else it's too loose tension on top. -
Assistance In Determining What It Is I Have Here?
CowboyBob replied to stevesleather21's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Yes,it's a Champion Shoe machine,if you buy it you should try to get a couple more so you'll have parts as the (parts) were discontinued years ago.And the aftermarket never made them like they do for the Landis #12. -

CowboyBob replied to kwalk20's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Put some on the groove the hook spins on (where the piece of thread is) all the way around, take the belt off & rack the machine back & forth w/your hand.Once the oil gets in there it'll make it slippery enough for the hook to spin. -
The Wait Is Finally Over For The 206Rb But
CowboyBob replied to OLDNSLOW's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
There's a hole behind the spool pin on top that you put a screwdriver in to turn the screw to the left to loosen the foot pressure. If you loo on the back of the machine you can see the flat spring & where the screw pushes in the middle. -
Steve, Glad to hear your back BUT I didn't know you were in the hospital. Hope you mend up quick !!

Well it's a good thing I look at this board once in a while! It would of been nice if you let me know you had a problem yesterday & I could of called the freight company & try to help. It's not my fault that your having a problem w/a shipper yet if you refuse because of their mistakes they will be billing me for the return trip.Technicially YOU should pay since YOU ordered something & refused it!! I can understand your frustrated SO WHY not call & let me know ??? Luckily for us we hardly have any problems like this with shippers BUT things happen once in a while beyond their control. It's certainally beyond my control,BUT I will call them today & see what's going on.

You might have it threaded wrong or else the TOP tension is to loose. You need to wipe off the foot & foot bar b4 u start sewing w/a paper towel after oiling. It's best to leave something under the foot to catch the oil.It will stop soon.

Singer Needle Bar - I Could Use Some Help
CowboyBob replied to Constabulary's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The 16,17 & 18 should all be the same since they are all like a 16 class, the 31 bar is .283 & 91/4" long, the 17 is .283 81/4"long ,the 96-80 is .250 ,6" long Let me know if you need info on anything else. -
Uwe,that is a Pearson,not a landis#1 in our showroom.We do not have any Landis#1 parts or needles.
-
I'm glad to hear ur making some stitches. The spool isn't supposed to spin. You are supposed to pull the thread off the top of the spool so it doesn't have any drag.
-
There's 4-screws that fasten the head to the stand, take them out & it's a lot easier to go up steps with. Also less prone to breakage in transport.
-
You can't on most Ind types you wind the bobbin while sewing, that's why the threadstand holds 2-spools.

Cowboy 3200 - Thread Wrapping Around Bobbin/shuttle
CowboyBob replied to GaryNunn's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Gary,A problem like this is almost always a threading issue. Is the thread through 2-holes in the spool pin on top? This puts alittle pre-tension on the thread to help it stay in the first tension as your sewing and are you sure it's wrapped around the 2nd tension 1 & 1/2x ?- 6 replies

There's a screw in the center of the wheel(look from the outside) rightside, that is probably holding it on.

Try #23 needle w/207,are you using the S point? -
You might be able to loosen the foot pressure knob on the top left hand corner of the machine will help, these marks can also be rubbed out w/a spoon.Be careful you don't loosen it too much or the machine will start skipping stitches.
