You have inspired me. What a great looking bag. You should be proud of your work. I downloaded a pattern from leatherbagpattern.com myself, a duffle bag, that I think will make a good shooting bag.
Keep up the good work.
Now I like this one a lot. Good design and I like the lining. I always line my holsters too. It looks great the way it is. When you figure out how to age it please post another picture.
Wow!!! I admire you for your work and how the belt came out. I only hand stitch and nother near as nice as your work. When I first looked at it I thought it was machined then I saw the awl and needle at the bottom of the picture. I too love to stitch and am getting better at it but now I see how nice it can be.
I'm very impressed with your leatherwork, your photography and your ability to describe how you did your work. It was a pleasure to read everything as you progressed.
Good luck with the rig. Looks great and should get a lot of attention when you make it out to your next match. I've watched a few of the Winter Range matches held here in Phoenix. Looks like so much fun but I'm into IPSC and Steel Challenge so I never got to shoot the CAS matches but a lot of my friends do.
I'd go with the 8 - 9 for the outer. It will be stiff enough for good support of the gun . I need a real heavy duty holster for a gun and I'm using 8/9 for the liner as well. The gun is quite large and softer leather just doesn't work for it. I'll post a picture when I'm finished.
