If it has been answered, someone will be kind enough to share the link to it. Thanks for sharing some of your work. One thing I noticed was some of the item's edges are not burnished. Do you have an edge slicker?

I have used a couple of places for stamps. This one is fairly inexpensive and stateside. Made from an epoxy type material. Great folks to deal with. Until the "scrap" goes into the trash, it is still something waiting to be made. Beautiful work @chuck123wapati!! I am gonna stick to leather for now. Have not dipped my toe into the forging of knives yet. Maybe I can talk you into sending some of that metal scrap (after you have done your magic on it) down this way. LOL.

Welcome to the forum! What beauties you have made, both knives and sheaths. I like the mottling on those sheaths. Gorgeous! @Wizcrafts can shed some light on your questions.

That's a great idea. Make sure to stamp the year on them so when the young ones have their own families and are hanging them up, their kiddos can hear the story about "way back when". Nice work!!

The stamps you describe seem rather small for a typical width belt. I made one for my Dad and carved his name so the letters were larger. What width belt are you making?

Great way to use up those small pieces. Any type of earrings are good too. I enjoy creating the leather portion, just not all the tedious hooks and stuff.

Chisels make easy work to make holes in leather. A single prong does just that ...1 hole at a time. If you can afford to add a 2 and a 4 prong, it will help you keep your line a little straighter and your hole spacing much more consistent. I use all three. 4 prong for long straight sections, 2 prong for bends and round edges, and the 1 punch when I have a gap between 2 holes that is just too wide to leave without a hole. Someone just recently shared this link. It may be helpful.

Great explanation, @zuludog. I have tried several sets of diamond chisels and found the ones from Weaver Leather to be the best (considering I am not buying high end chisels).

I am sure he will appreciate it. My dad is a retired old country doc and received many things from his patients over the years. He relishes these items, both large and small. Well done.

I like that idea but thought when I build my table, I may just store my leather flat. Something to consider is putting a curtain or something to block the sun from getting to it. If I lay mine flat on the bottom shelf, I may cover mine with a layer of cardboard to protect it. Do you already have a chunk of marble for stamping? If not, get with a counter top contractor and ask for a sink cutout. They normally have stacks of them.

What a delightful piece. Growing up on a farm, we had barbed wire and electric fences to keep in the cattle. No wooden fences. The only interaction we had with the fence was trying to talk one of our city friends into peeing on the electric wire. Always good for a laugh.
