  1. When you look at these and many others compatible makes, side by side they all look the same, so what makes the difference between a lighter thread limit and a very heavy thread limit and can you modify say a 3200 to a 4500 with a few parts on the pressure foot to increase the thickness that can be used, or are they totally different inside I do realise that some clones may be better made than others, but that is not what i am enquiring about, Just really how the difference is applied to the same basic design
  2. You could do your own test like a doctor would using some very small say half inch square pieces of leather placed on your body, one with the raw leather, one with the dye on, and see what one effects you, maybe one on the left arm and the other on the right arm At least you will know what to avoid in the future Like those highly polished studs
  3. The dealer should have a mechanic who would be able to repair almost any sewing machine make, so no doubt whatever you brought they could assist with any problem
  4. I would have thought the motor and control system from a old mobility scooters, would be a good way to modify a sewing machine to electric with maybe a solar power pack to recharge the battery, just a idea as it has speed control, good range and plenty of old ones around to dismantle
  5. At $25 for there cosmetic case for sale see https://www.harperave.com/products/minjun-mirrored-case I doubt they would be looking to pay more than a few dollar for you luggage address tab
  6. Looks great, but just like me gets more crinkles every day, but your efforts seem to be much more uniform crinkles than me
  7. Sorry to be so negative , but ask yourself why they have chosen you to make them rather than far cheaper sources in the far eastern countries, they may well be genuine companies and even UK based but just make sure everything is OK before you make any commitment
  8. Much depends on the terms and conditions made by the company buying them, is there a time limit, what are their payment times,is it sale or return. As a small company we often think our T&C apply, but in reality its the demands from the large company that mean "take it or leave it, these are out terms" You have a large startup cost and any machine failure could make a delay and lose you the contract My first inclination would be to sub contract it out with you playing a large part on Quality Control and getting legal advice on making your contract with the sub contractor You may well find the time limit makes it unobtainable and the expected price far lower than you think
  9. About a year ago there was a guy on this forum who was making a new line of threads, the posts went on for a few months with trials etc but seems to have vanished, did he ever get the new company up and running and if so does he have a site?
  10. I am still a learner, but have used NFO on the belt first then after about a hour applied the pro dye and had a good even finish which seems to have good penetration then 50/50 resolene a couple of days later
  11. I would use your location something like "DW at Dallas Texas" The reason just your name means nothing to the population at large, but if they want leather work they will look up someone near their location in most cases, A brand name takes years to get known and lots of advertising
  12. Pretty crap roll over corners on that wallet, but the rest look fine
  13. Make sure you get a servo motor as the clutch ones are noisy and constantly on Industrial machines are very heavy 30kg is not unusual, might be easier getting a low cost domestic model for the non leather sewing rather than trying to find a industrial which will do light work and leather
  14. I have used Effax leather balm on very thin natural goat veg tan, and whilst it darkens a lot when applied upon drying it seems to go back to its original colour Being so soft and near runny, it also seems to sink into the leather very well
  15. Is the heavy thread for design purpose or does it need the strength, thats a question you could ask the person who wants them This thread guide may be of use https://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
  16. In England as a very much generalised point of view, people tend to go to shows and markets without any pre intention of buying but just to see what's on offer, they may impulse buy something at low cost but basically more interested in looking, Some go with the intention of seeing something they have heard of and want to touch, feel it but probably few in numbers Social media is much the same, it can be good for long term marketing, (making people aware you exist) but mostly not looking to buy at that moment in time Amazon, EBay and web sites are mainly searched by people looking to buy a item and compare them
  17. Love that pink one, nice to see something different, the victorians often spent a fortune extra on making normal day items look nice rather than bland
  18. There are tons of leather offcuts available on ebay, both chrome and veg tan where you can practice at low cost also companies like JWood supply ecconomy veg tan which is very low cost and good for practice items but not tooling https://www.jwoodleathers.co.uk/natural-veg-tan-leathers/
  19. You can drill out a small arbor press to fit pricking irons into, and use the arbor to punch through your holes, leaving the same effect as using a awl
  20. Don't know about catching them, but from films you do seem expert's at breading them little critters
  21. It could well be they are doing alright online and want to keep out the online competition, which would over time just reduce selling prices Therefore to limit competition they demand a retail outlet that meets their expectations and most likely also a demand you dont sell online There must be a number a whole sellers in Aus apart from this one, https://www.google.co.uk/search?newwindow=1&source=hp&ei=Nl3bW7vDKdLgkgWK1KzgDg&btnG=Search&q=horse+tack+whoesellers+Australia&oq=clipart+or+Vector+drawings&gs_l=psy-ab.3...2020.21071.0.21622.27.24.0.2.2.0.88.1618.24.24.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..1.25.1555.0..0j0i131k1j0i22i30k1j33i22i29i30k1j33i21k1j33i160k1.0.iKJMRD0Rj5E
  22. A diagram or image may assist others wanting to help you, a tool bag can have many shapes and sizes depending on what they are for and who made them
  23. He sure looks as happy as a turkey on Christmas eve
